Opening the team’s aggressiveness...
“I thought that was the first time we were assertive for the whole game. It’s the first time we came out assertive. We talked to them for two days to try to come out and impose our will on the opposition, which we haven’t done. We haven’t done it at all, much less for an entire game.”
On the half-court offense...
“We had a really good practice on Sunday where we really broke down and guarded their offense, then we worked really hard on half-court man offense. We kind of threw a lot of things at them, all successfully. I thought our half-court offense was better today.”
On the play of Jason Bennett...
“He was really good today. He was really active today. He was fairly active the first half of the
On ball control...
“I don’t our guys the last three days that if they were running backs, I’d bench them and never put them in again. You can’t keep dropping the ball on the carpet. We attacked the basket better. They opened up the floor a little bit with their pressure, but we still ought to attack the goal a lot more than what we have.”
On starting Serge Afeli...
“He played well in the
On the shooting percentage...
“We got a bunch of lay-ups and foul shots. If you think about it, you can miss every shot, but if you rebound them and put them in, you’re shooting 50 percent. I think that’s what people look sight in. If you shoot the ball and someone else rebounds it and puts it in, you’re shooting 50 percent as a team. Then, if you steal the ball a couple of times and go score, then all of a sudden that goes above 50 (percent).”
