MANHATTAN, Kan. - The 22nd Annual Powercat Golf Tournament, scheduled for Friday, April 21, at Colbert Hills, has been completely sold out, tournament coordinator and assistant development director Bernie Haney announced Thursday.
"With all the excitement surrounding the athletics department and the opportunity to play the top course in the state of Kansas, we are not at all surprised that the 144 spots in this year's event filled up quickly," Haney said. "This tournament is going to be a great kickoff to a very exciting weekend."
Haney also indicated that though the tournament field had been filled, event organizers had begun putting together a waiting list for individuals interested in participating in the four-person scramble and that players could contact him at (785) 532-5162 or bhaney@ksu.edu to be added to that list.
The 22nd Annual Powercat Golf Tournament kicks off a two-day slate of events surrounding Kansas State's 2006 spring football game on Saturday, April 22, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. In addition to the golf tournament, K-State will also host the popular Powercat Auction on Friday night in Bramlage Coliseum.
Saturday's events include the inaugural KSU Wildcat BBQ Battle, a full carnival midway, Willie's Fun Zone, live music in Cat Town and a battle of the bands, the Kansas vs. K-State baseball game at Tointon Family Stadium and a post-game autograph session with the Wildcat football team following the spring game.
