Junior WR Jordy Nelson
On how he felt the team played tonight...
“I think we played good. With the team split up like this, you can see it is a little more challenging than usual. There is a lot more to play for, and I think things went well. I think it took us a little while to get settled down, especially on the Purple team with the younger guys. They are not used to having all of these people around, but they settled down and they got the hang of it. It was good to see that.”
On his touchdown...
“(Josh) Freeman threw a great ball. He just threw it up. We just try to do our best out here and make plays.”
Junior TE Rashaad Norwood
On the play of the receivers...
“As you could see, everyone was making plays both the tight ends and the receivers. Going into the fall we have an awesome receiving crew.”
Senior QB Dylan Meier
On how he felt tonight...
“I felt all right. I made a few bad decisions. On the one pick I threw, I kind of got hit when I threw it and I couldn’t get the ball off. That was my fault. I have to hit the check-down on that. Other than that I felt pretty good. In the spring, I have started to feel more comfortable. I really came around at the end and felt more comfortable with everything. It has been about two years since I have really done anything in practice. At first, just dropping back felt uncomfortable. As soon as I was able to get my reads, I felt a lot more comfortable with everything.”
On the play of the quarterbacks...
“I think the experience factor kicked in at first. As soon as I got out there, it all came back to me. We went right down and got ahead. In games like this, it is important to get ahead in the beginning. The Purple team came back. Allan Evridge had a good drive and made it a game at half.”
Senior WR Yamon Figurs
On the atmosphere...
“It was pretty exciting. Having over 30,000 fans was amazing.”
On the competition among the wide receivers...
“Right now the coach established that the second guy has to be better than the first guy. The competition is real hot. Everybody is trying to get better every day.”
