| | | | | Facility Improvements Roll On | | Kansas State's steady stream of facility improvements continue to roll on as crews finished installing a new FieldTurf playing surface in K-State's 92,000 square-foot indoor football practice facility.
The latest generation of FieldTurf replaced a 14-year-old synthetic turf surface that had been in place since the building's construction.
In addition to the indoor football facility, plans are in place to install FieldTurf in the Bradenberry Indoor Complex and on the infield and warning track areas of Tointon Family Stadium later in the spring at the conclusion of the baseball season.
Meanwhile, installation of Kansas State's new 23-foot high by 61-foot wide fully integrated ProStar VideoPlus display at the south end of Bill Snyder Family Stadium is also underway as construction crews finished foundation work on the massive footings and supports that will carry the state-of-the art structure.
Across the field at the north end of Snyder Family Stadium, construction crews continued to make progress on the renovations to the Vanier Complex.
With the extensive foundation work required to support the new structure now completed, crews have recently begun adding vertical elements to the project, including the installation of much of steel framework that will provide nearly 10,000 square feet of new space on two levels to the existing building. | |

| | | | | K-State Fans Rock Spring Game | | When head football coach Ron Prince announced during his mid-December barnstorming tour of the state of Kansas that his goal was to have at least 20,000 fans in the stands for the Wildcats' 2006 Purple and White spring game, few would have predicted that Kansas State could reach that target.
After all, the previous known record for attendance at a K-State spring game was 18,421 - and that came in 2001 on the heels of the Wildcats' thrilling Cotton Bowl win over Tennessee.
But Kansas State fans - regarded as some of the most passionate and loyal in the country - responded in droves as 31,875 gathered in Bill Snyder Family Stadium Saturday night to celebrate Wildcat football and put an exclamation point on K-State's Spring Game and Fan Fest weekend.
In addition to smashing the school spring game attendance record, K-State's crowd of 31,875 currently ranks seventh in the nation among Bowl Championship Series schools for spring game attendance.
