Nominations for K-State Athletics Hall of Fame Open

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The K-State Athletics Department is now accepting nomination for the Kansas State University Athletics Hall of Fame for the class of 2006.
The Athletics Department will accept nominations until Friday, June 9.
Members of the general public may make written nominations through that time by submitting a letter to the Sports Information Office, Kansas State Athletics, 1800 College Ave., Manhattan, Kan. 66502. Nominations will not be accepted over the telephone, but will be accepted via fax at 785-532-6093 or via e-mail at sportsinfo@ksu.edu.
In order to be nominated, persons must have distinguished themselves by making exceptional contributions to the achievements and prestige of Kansas State University in the field of athletics. Nominees must also have continued to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted from Intercollegiate Athletics.
Three categories of nominations will be accepted. Former athletes must have earned at least one letter, had outstanding achievement as a student-athlete and have had their freshman class enter college no later than 1996.
Former coaches and administrators must have had a tenure of at least five years in the athletics department and had at least five years since their most recent employment in athletics at K-State.
Honorary nominees must have had exceptional contributions and service to the program.
Selections will be made over the course of the summer, with the Induction Class of 2006 to be honored at a ceremony on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, prior to the Kansas State home football game vs. Oklahoma State.
