Opening Statement...
“Obviously, our goals going into the week were to play well and win. I don’t think we did the first. I didn’t think we played well. We did win. It’s hard to win and we will never begrudge a win. They are hard to get. I think our team will have a healthy respect for how hard it is to win. We had a good contest here tonight as we predicted. No. 81 (Laurent Robinson) was obviously a factor in the game as we pointed out early in the week. This is a very good running game, just as they have shown in years past. If you give them one-on-ones on the outside, No. 81 is capable of exploiting that. This game is no different then how it turned out at
On if he was surprised
“No, I wasn’t surprised at all. There’s a school of thought, especially in the National Football League about two-point plays not being high-percentage plays. But if you’re on the road and you’ve got the team right where you want them, I agree with his decision. I think he had us on our heals. As far as doing it again, I think he would do that again.”
On the special teams play of Yamon Figurs...
“I think the opportunity to have the ball past the 30 (yard line) consistently for the offense gives us a chance. With Jeff Snodgrass kicking the field goals, (special teams) was the story of the game as far as I’m concerned, along with Ian Campbell’s (pass) rush in the fourth quarter.”
On if Dylan Meier had a chance to play well...
“I don’t know if that’s the best Dylan Meier that we will see. I can be honest with you, I’ve seen better. I think that being harassed in the pocket and not having a chance to really feel as comfortable in there is part of it. A good defensive coach is going to try to do the same thing. So, we have to make sure we give them the kind of protection and opportunity to have a better game. I don’t think the statistics tell the whole story in this game for sure. We need to play better on offense.
