The winner will earn a spot in the Final Four with the national semifinals to be held Saturday, April 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. It marks the 12th time that the Wildcats have advanced to a regional final, including the first time since 1988 when the squad lost to archrival Kansas, 71-58, in the Midwest Regional Final in Pontiac, Mich., on March 27. This will be the fourth time that K-State has played in a West Regional Final (1948, 1951, 1981), including the first since losing to North Carolina, 82-68, in Salt Lake City, on March 21, 1981. The Wildcats have not advanced to the Final Four since 1964. Kansas State continued their school-record season for wins on Thursday with a dramatic 101-96 double-overtime victory over No. 25 Xavier for its 29th of the season. It was the Wildcats' first overtime win in three tries this season and the first in double overtime since 1980. The squad survived multiple runs by the Musketeers at the end of regulation and the first overtime before junior Jacob Pullen hit back-to-back 3-point field goals in the second overtime to go with a pair of free throws to seal the victory. Pullen led four players in double figures with a team-high 28 points on 9-of-20 field goals, including 6-of-12 from 3-point range, in 40 minutes, while backcourt mate Denis Clemente added 25 points on 10-of-24 shooting, including a pair of treys, with a team-best five assists in 48 minutes. Junior forward Curtis Kelly had 21 points and a team-high eight rebounds to go with five blocked shots and four assists in 43 minutes. Sophomore Jamar Samuels posted 14 points and five rebounds off the bench. Sophomore Jordan Crawford of Xavier led all scorers with 32 points, while Terrell Holloway had 26 points.
