MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Jamar Samuels scored 22 points and Jacob Pullen added 21 to lead No. 21 Kansas State to a 94-60 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday.
Rodney McGruder added 16 points and Curtis Kelly had 12 for the Wildcats (13-5, 1-2 Big 12), who bounced back for a convincing win on Saturday.
The Wildcats took a 17-4 lead, ignited by Pullen’s two 3-pointers, and were never really threatened. Kelly, returning from a six-game suspension, made two dunks midway through the first half that were part of an 8-0 run that put Kansas State up 27-9.
Texas Tech made only 4 of its first 17 shots and trailed 52-26 at halftime. Samuels had 18 points and Pullen 16, outscoring Tech by eight in the half.
K-State continued to dominate in the second half and led by as many as 36 late in the contest. The Wildcats dominated the boards, 44-18, and one less offensive rebound (17) than Tech had in total rebounds.
The Wildcats shot 53.1 percent from the field and 59.1 percent from the 3-point line while also hitting on 13-of-16 free throws (81.3 percent).
John Roberson scored 19 points for Texas Tech (8-10, 0-3), which has lost its three Big 12 games by a combined 77 points.
K-State returns to action Monday when it travels to Columbia, Mo., to take on 15th-ranked Missouri (15-3, 1-2 Big 12). The game will tip at 4:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
