COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Rodney McGruder scored 26 points with five 3-pointers, while Jamar Samuels added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds as Kansas State won its 20th game of the season following a 76-70 victory at Texas A&M on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats stormed out ahead in the first half and led by as many as 11 points behind 58-percent shooting the in the opening 20 minutes, which included going 8-of-9 behind the three-point arc.

K-State upped its lead to 12 in the early stages of the second half before the Aggies slowly chipped away at the lead.

Texas A&M used a 6-0 run, capped by a jump shot by Dash Harris, to cut Kansas State's lead to 66-63 with about 3 minutes left.

McGruder responded with a 3-pointer before a layup by Harris on the other end. A put-back dunk by Jordan Henriquez and a pair of free throws by Angel Rodriguez stretched the lead to 73-65 with less than a minute remaining.

For the game, K-State shot 48-percent from the floor, was 12-of-17 from three-point range and 18-of-22 from the free throw line.

The victory gave Kansas State (20-9, 9-8 Big 12) 20 wins for the sixth straight season and 25th time in school history.

Elston Turner had 22 points for Texas A&M (13-16, 4-13), which has dropped four in a row, while Rodriguez added 13 for K-State.
