K-State to Host Operation Santa Claus at Upcoming Basketball Games
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State will accept toy donations for Fort Riley's Operation Santa Claus at a pair of upcoming basketball games. Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys or gift cards to the men's basketball game vs. SE Missouri State this Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m., or prior to the women's basketball game vs. Northern Iowa on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
In exchange for the toy donation, fans will be able purchase a single-game ticket for just $5 to the men's game or a $3 ticket to the women's game.
Celebrating its 33rd year, Fort Riley's Operation Santa Claus helps service members and their families provide gifts to their children during the holiday season. All donations will go towards a Fort Riley Soldier, especially to families under financial constraints and families of deployed, fallen, or injured Soldiers who may not be able to give a gift to their own children.
"It helps brighten the holiday season for Soldiers and their families, no matter their rank or gender," said Sgt. 1st Class Mathew Fuqua, head elf for Operation Santa Claus. "The program is designed to make happy kids and help people to pass the holidays, especially with parents being deployed."
Fans have several opportunities to take advantage of ticket offers during the holidays.
The Pick 5 plan includes five redeemable vouchers for any men's game except the KU contest for just $75. Fans have the freedom to use all five vouchers at five different events or use all five at once. The Bramlage Bundle will be available for the men's Big 12 home opener against West Virginia on Monday, Jan. 1 when the Wildcats host "Star Wars Day". The package includes a bench/general admission ticket, $10 concessions voucher and a souvenir from the K-State Super Store for just $20 per package. With the purchase of a men's game ticket on Jan. 1, fans will receive a free general admission ticket to the women's game on Sunday, Jan. 7 vs. Texas.
These ticket options can be purchased through the Athletics Ticket Office by calling toll free at (800) 221-CATS (2287), by logging in online at www.kstatesports.com/tickets and in-person at Bramlage Coliseum.
