Wildcats in the NFL – Week 13

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2017 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 12 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, CB – Atlanta Falcons
Burton, a wide receiver for his entire K-State career in addition to the preseason with the Atlanta, is a defensive back on the Falcons' practice squad. The Falcons lost at Minnesota, 14-9, to fall to 7-5 on the year, two games behind first-place New Orleans. Atlanta hosts the Saints on Thursday.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
An undrafted rookie free agent in 2015 who is in his second year on the roster, Finney saw time on six special teams plays in Pittsburgh's 23-20 Monday-night win at Cincinnati. Finney, a product of Andale, Kansas, has played in 22 career games with five starts, including three this season. Pittsburgh improved to 10-2 on the year to lead the AFC North by three games. The Steelers host Baltimore on Sunday night.
Emmanuel Lamur, LB – Minnesota Vikings
Lamur, a sixth-year linebacker, made one tackle in Minnesota's 14-9 victory over Atlanta. A second-year player for the Vikings after spending his first four seasons in Cincinnati, Lamur has 175 career tackles, a half sack, 11 passes defended and two interceptions. Now 10-2 this year to lead the NFC North by four games, Minnesota travels to face Carolina on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
Lee recorded a tackle on punt coverage and played in 13 special teams plays as San Francisco picked up its second victory of the year, a 15-14 win at Chicago. The Blue Springs, Missouri, now has two tackles this year as he also had one in Week 5 at Indianapolis, a play in which he forced a fumble. Originally a seventh-round draft pick by Minnesota in the 2017 NFL Draft, Lee was a member of the Vikings' practice squad until he signed with San Francisco's active roster on Sept. 13. Now 2-10 on the year, the 49ers travel to face Houston on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR/Returner – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett, a third-year pro, started and caught two passes for 17 yards – including a one-yard touchdown – while he returned a punt for two yards and two kickoffs for 47 yards in Seattle's 24-10 Sunday-night victory over Philadelphia. In 11 games this season, Lockett has 35 catches for 425 yards and one touchdown, while he has returned 23 kickoffs for a 25.7-yard average to rank third in the NFL. The victory improved Seattle to 8-4 on the year to remain a game out of first place in the NFC West. The Seahawks travel across the country to face Jacksonville on Sunday.
Cornelius Lucas, OT – Los Angeles Rams
Lucas, a three-year offensive lineman for Detroit who signed with the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 13, was inactive for the Rams' 32-16 win at Arizona. Los Angeles continues to hold a one-game lead over Seattle in the NFC West at 9-3, and the Rams host Philadelphia on Sunday.
Charmeachealle Moore, LB – Los Angeles Chargers
An undrafted rookie free agent signee by the Chargers, Moore is on injured reserve for the 2017 season. Los Angeles won its third-straight game and sixth in the last eight contests with a 19-10 home victory over Cleveland. Tied for first place in the AFC West, LA hosts Washington on Sunday.
Jordy Nelson, WR – Green Bay Packers
A 10-year veteran, Nelson carded five catches for 17 yards in Green Bay's 26-20 overtime win over Tampa Bay. In 12 games this year – all starts – Nelson has 43 catches for 410 yards and six touchdowns. The Riley, Kansas, product is second in Green Bay history in career receiving touchdowns (69), third in catches (540) and fifth in yards (7,776). The Packers evened their record at 6-6 prior to traveling to Cleveland on Sunday.
Terence Newman, CB – Minnesota Vikings
Newman, a 15-year NFL veteran in his third season with Minnesota, played in 21 special teams plays in the Vikings' 14-9 win over Atlanta. The Salina, Kansas, product played in his 215th career game – the 10th most among active NFL players and second most among defensive players. Newman, who has 27 tackles and three breakups this season, has 868 career tackles to go along with 2.0 sacks, 170 passes defended and 41 interceptions, the latter ranking second in the NFL among active players. The Vikings earned their eighth-straight victory to improve to 10-2 on the year and hold a four-game lead in the NFC North. Minnesota travels to play Carolina on Sunday.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
A 13-year veteran, Sproles was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 25, due to season-ending injuries sustained in Week 3. The Olathe, Kansas, native has 19,155 career all-purpose yards, which ranks first among active players and eighth in NFL history. Philadelphia saw its nine-game winning streak snapped in the form of a 24-10 loss at Seattle on Sunday night. The Eagles will remain on the west coast the week, practicing at Angel Stadium in preparation for their showdown at the 9-3 LA Rams on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Whitehair started his 28th-straight game and played on all 37 offensive snaps in Chicago's 15-14 home loss to San Francisco. The 3-9 Bears travel to face Cincinnati on Sunday.
Jordan Willis, DE – Cincinnati Bengals
Willis, a third-round pick in this year's draft, played on three defensive snaps and four special teams plays in Cincinnati's 23-20 Monday-night home loss to Pittsburgh. The player who extended K-State's Big 12-leading draft streak to 24 years, Willis has 18 tackles, 2.0 TFLs and a sack this year. Now 5-7 this season, the Bengals host Chicago on Sunday.
