FORT WORTH, Texas
 – A clutch 3-pointer by sophomore Dean Wade and six consecutive free throws helped Kansas State hold off a late TCU rally, 75-74, on Wednesday night before 6,165 fans at Schollmaier Arena.

Clinging to a 66-65 lead with less than 2 minutes to play, the Wildcats (18-12, 7-10 Big 12) got a huge play from Wade with the shot clock winding down, as he canned his career-best fourth triple with 1:22 remaining. The 3-pointer gave him his fourth career 20-point game, including his third of the season, as he finished with a career-tying 8 field goals made to go with career bests for both field goals attempted (15) and 3-pointers attempted (9).

TCU (17-13, 6-11 Big 12), who much like K-State is fighting for its postseason lives, closed to with 69-67 on a pair of free throws by junior Vlad Brodziansky with 23 seconds to play. However, the Wildcats were able to close down the stretch from the stripe, as sophomore Kamau Stokes hit two free throws with 21 seconds then another two with 13 seconds to play before senior D.J. Johnson clinched the game with two more with 6 seconds remaining.

Wade paced four Wildcats in double figures with his career-tying 20 points, while senior Wesley Iwundu collected his ninth career double-double, including his fourth of the season, with 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds in 37 minutes. Stokes also finished with 16 points to go with a game-high 7 assists and 3 steals, while Johnson registered double figures for the first time in 6 games with 12 points.

K-State connected on 45.5 percent (25-of-55) of its field goals, including 42.9 percent (9-of-21) from 3-point range, and finished 16-of-22 from the free throw line. TCU shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the field, including 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from long range, and went 14-of-17 from the line.

Brodziansky paced four Horned Frogs in double figures with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while sophomore Alex Robinson added 14 points, including 7 in the last 13 seconds, to go with 6 assists. Senior Kenrich Williams recorded a double-double with 13 points on 6-of-9 field goals and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Quotable
“Just a total team win by our guys,” said head coach Bruce Weber. “Obviously, Dean (Wade) hit a huge 3-pointer, but everyone played a part in this victory. Wesley (Iwundu) had a double-double, while Kam (Stokes) and D.J. (Johnson) made huge free throws down the stretch. I couldn’t be happier for our guys for how they responded after the loss at Oklahoma. But our focus now turns to Saturday and another big game against Texas Tech.”
