K-State to Host Diversity and Inclusion Game vs. Oklahoma Jan. 16
MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State Athletics will host the inaugural Diversity and Inclusion game when the men's basketball team plays host to nationally-ranked Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 16 at Bramlage Coliseum.

The event, which is part of the department's first-ever comprehensive Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Plan, is presented by K-State Athletics, the men's basketball program and the Athletics Empowered Family Committee.

The Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Plan was implemented to create and encourage an environment that embraces diversity while actively promoting the inclusion of all groups throughout the university and Manhattan communities. The game will serve as way to promote awareness of various diversity and inclusion issues, while celebrating the eclectic populations that makes the K-State Family unique and special.

The first 1,000 fans will receive a Diversity and Inclusion wristband, while special Diversity and Inclusion T-shirts will be available for $14.99 at the Manhattan area K-State Superstore locations (at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and 519 McCall Road) and online at www.kstategear.com starting today as well as on gameday on the Bramlage Coliseum concourse. The men's basketball team will also wear special warm-ups in pregame.

At halftime, K-State will hold a special on-court recognition for its 45 international student-athletes from more than 20 different nations.

In addition, fans will be able to learn more about how K-State is supporting diversity and inclusion efforts by visiting with representatives at information tables on the concourse highlighting various campus multicultural and diversity groups. Fans will also receive information cards with more information about the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Plan and its core goals and values.

Tickets for the game are available for just $12.50 with the Wildcat 4-pack. Fans can buy tickets online, by calling (800) 221.CATS or by visiting the ticket office inside Bramlage Coliseum.

The game will tip off at 8 p.m. and will air nationally on ESPNU.
