MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2018 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 12 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, CB – Atlanta Falcons
Burton, who has spent time on both Atlanta's and Green Bay's active roster this year, has since been signed back to the Falcons practice squad, a place he resided all last year. Atlanta picked up a 34-29 win over Tampa Bay to improve to 2-4 on the year. The Falcons travel to face the New York Giants on Monday night.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
An undrafted rookie free agent signee in 2015 who is in his third year on the active roster, Finney played on four special teams plays in Pittsburgh's 28-21 comeback victory at Cincinnati. A product of Andale, Kansas, who played in his 33rd-career game, Finney has started nine games in his career, including two this year. Pittsburgh enters its bye week with a 3-2-1 record.
Emmanuel Lamur, LB – Oakland Raiders
Lamur, a seventh-year linebacker, started and made four tackles among his 23 defensive snaps and five special teams plays in Oakland's 27-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in London, England. Lamur has played in 77 career games with 18 starts, and he has totaled 190 career tackles. The Raiders enter their bye week with a 1-5 record.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
A second-year player, Lee made a tackle on kickoff coverage in San Francisco's 33-30 last-second loss at Green Bay on Monday night. Lee has played in 20 career games with 21 tackles, 17 of which have come this year. The loss dropped the 49ers to 1-5 on the year, and they host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR/Returner – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett, a fourth-year pro, hauled in three catches for 13 yards – including a 10-yard touchdown – and rushed once for seven yards in Seattle's 27-3 victory over the Oakland Raiders in London, England. Lockett has 23 receptions for 360 yards and five touchdowns this year, the latter being one shy of his career high (2015) and tied for sixth in the league. Seattle improved to 3-3 on the year as the Seahawks enter their bye week.
Matt McCrane, PK – Oakland Raiders
McCrane, who spent the preseason with the Arizona Cardinals, made one of his two field goal attempts – going wide left on a 48-yarder and making a 43-yarder – in Oakland's 27-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in London, England. McCrane, who made the game-winning field goal in overtime in his first-career game against Cleveland, is 5-of-9 on field goals this year and is 5-for-5 on extra points. The Raiders, now 1-5 on the season, are off next week.
Jordy Nelson, WR – Oakland Raiders
Nelson, an 11th-year veteran who is in his first season with Oakland, had two catches for six yards in the Raiders' 27-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in London, England. Nelson has 22 catches for 333 yards and three touchdowns this year. Oakland enters its bye week with a 1-5 record.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
Pringle, an undrafted rookie free agent this past spring, was placed on injured reserve prior to the season. He finished the preseason with six receptions for 147 yards, including a four-catch, 122-yard effort in the final preseason game against Green Bay. His game against the Packers also included a 47-yard kickoff return. Kansas City suffered its first loss of the year in the form of a 43-40 defeat at New England, and the Chiefs host Cincinnati on Sunday night.
D.J. Reed, DB – San Francisco 49ers
A fifth-round draft pick by San Francisco in this year's draft, Reed had two defensive tackles, one special teams stop and returned a kickoff 30 yards in the 49ers 33-30 last-second loss at Green Bay on Monday night. Reed, who saw time on 21 defensive snaps and 12 special teams plays, has a 30.2-yard kickoff return average this year to rank third in the league. The Wildcat whose selection by San Francisco in April extended K-State's Big 12-leading streak to 25-straight years with an NFL Draft pick, Reed and the 1-5 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
Sproles, in the midst of his 14th NFL season, was inactive in Philadelphia's 34-13 Thursday-night win at the New York Giants. The Olathe, Kansas, native has 19,216 career all-purpose yards to rank sixth in NFL history and first among active players. Now 3-3 on the year, Philadelphia travels to face Carolina on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Whitehair collected his 37th-straight start and 36th at center in Chicago's 31-28 overtime loss at Miami. The Abilene, Kansas, product played on all 70 offensive snaps. The loss dropped the Bears to 3-2 on the year, and they travel to face New England on Sunday.

Willis, a third-round pick in last year's draft, made one tackle among his 28 defensive snaps and six special-teams plays in Cincinnati's 28-21 last-minute loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. Now 4-2 on the season, the Bengals travel to face Kansas City on Sunday night.
