MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2018 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 12 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, CB – Atlanta Falcons
Burton, who has spent time on both Atlanta's and Green Bay's active roster this year, was signed back to the Falcons practice squad last week, a place he resided all of last year. The Falcons lost on a last-minute touchdown at home to Cincinnati, 37-36. Atlanta, 1-3 on the year, travels to face Pittsburgh on Sunday.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
An undrafted rookie free agent signee in 2015 who is in his third year on the active roster, Finney played on two special teams plays in Pittsburgh's 26-14 loss to divisional foe Baltimore. A product of Andale, Kansas, who played in his 31st-career game, Finney has started nine career games, including two this year. The Steelers, who are now 1-2-1 this season, host Atlanta on Sunday.
Emmanuel Lamur, LB – Oakland Raiders
Lamur, a seventh-year linebacker, started and made four tackles among his 35 defensive plays and 14 special teams plays in Oakland's 45-42 overtime victory over Cleveland. Lamur has played in 75 career games with 17 starts, and he has totaled 186 career tackles. The Raiders picked up their first win of the year to move to 1-3, and they travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
A second-year player, Lee made one special-teams tackle among his 26 plays in the 49ers' 49-27 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers. Lee has played in 18 career games with 20 career tackles, 16 of which have come this year. San Francisco, which fell to 1-3 on the year, hosts Arizona on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR/Returner – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett, a fourth-year pro, registered five catches for 53 yards and returned four punts for 39 yards (9.8-yard average) in Seattle's 20-17 victory at Arizona. Lockett has 17 receptions for 249 yards and three touchdowns this year, the latter being his best mark since his 2015 rookie season and tied for the fourth-highest in the league. Now 2-2 on the year, the Seahawks host the NFC West-leading Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Matt McCrane, PK – Oakland Raiders
McCrane, who spent the preseason with the Arizona Cardinals, signed with the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday and immediately made an impact as he went 3-for-5 – including the game-winning field goal in overtime – as he helped the Raiders top Cleveland, 45-42. McCrane's two misses, which were wide left from distances of 47 and 50 yards, came when he was kicking off the infield dirt of the Oakland-Alamedia County Coliseum, a facility shared between the Raiders and MLB's Oakland Athletics. McCrane, who was also true on all four extra-point attempts, became the first former Wildcat to make a field goal in an NFL game since Martin Gramatica's final season in 2008. Oakland notched its first win of the year, and the 1-3 Raiders travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Jordy Nelson, WR – Oakland Raiders
Nelson, an 11-year veteran who is in his first season with Oakland, registered five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown in addition to hauling in a game-tying two-point conversion with under a minute left in the Raiders' 45-42 overtime victory against Cleveland. Oakland earned its first win of the year to improve to 1-3, and the Raiders travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
Pringle, an undrafted rookie free agent this past spring, was placed on injured reserve prior to the season. He finished the preseason with six receptions for 147 yards, including a four-catch, 122-yard effort in the final preseason game against Green Bay. His game against the Packers also included a 47-yard kickoff return. The Chiefs, one of two 4-0 teams this year, host Jacksonville on Sunday.
D.J. Reed, DB – San Francisco 49ers
A fifth-round draft pick by San Francisco in this year's draft, Reed made his first-career start and carded two tackles, while he returned four kickoffs for 91 yards (22.8-yard average) in San Francisco's 29-27 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers. Reed, who was in on all 68 defensive snaps and 11 special teams plays, has a 30.0-yard kickoff return average this year to rank fourth in the league. The Wildcat whose selection by San Francisco in April extended K-State's Big 12-leading streak to 25-straight years with an NFL Draft pick, Reed and the 1-3 49ers host Arizona on Sunday.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
Sproles, who is in the midst of his 14th NFL season, was inactive for Philadelphia's 26-23 overtime loss at Tennessee. The Olathe, Kansas, native has 19,216 career all-purpose yards to rank sixth in NFL history and first among active players. The Eagles, now 2-2 on the year, host Minnesota on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Whitehair notched his 36th-straight start and 35th at center in Chicago's 48-10 home win over Tampa Bay. The Abilene, Kansas, native played on all 61 offensive snaps. The Bears, who are now 3-1 this year, are off in Week 5.

Willis, a third-round pick in last year's draft, played on 29 defensive snaps and seven special-teams plays in Cincinnati's 37-36 last-minute road win at Atlanta. The Bengals, who improved to 3-1 on the year, host Miami on Sunday.
