Wildcats in the NFL – Week 11

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2018 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 12 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, CB – Houston Texans
Playing for his third team this season, Burton was inactive for Houston's 23-21 victory at Washington on Sunday. Burton was signed off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad on October 31, while he also played in Atlanta's season opener – recording one tackle – and was with the Green Bay Packers a few weeks later. Houston improved to 7-3 on the year to hold a two-game lead in the AFC South, and the Texans host Tennessee on Monday night.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
Finney, an undrafted rookie free agent signee in 2015, saw time on a pair of special-teams plays in the Steelers' 20-16 victory at Jacksonville. The Andale, Kansas, product has played in 37 career games with nine starts, including two this year. Pittsburgh improved to 7-2-1 this season to lead the AFC North by 2.5 games, and the Steelers travel to Denver on Sunday.
Emmanuel Lamur, LB – Oakland Raiders
A seventh-year linebacker, Lamur was inactive for Oakland's 23-21 last-second victory at Arizona. Lamur has played in 78 career games with 19 starts, and he has totaled 192 career tackles. The Raiders are now 2-8 this season and travel to face Baltimore on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
Lee, a second-year player, and the San Francisco 49ers were idle last week. A native of Blue Springs, Missouri, Lee has played in 24 career games with 28 tackles, 24 of which have come this year. The 49ers, who are 2-8 this season, open the stretch run of the season by traveling to face Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR/Returner – Seattle Seahawks
A fourth-year pro, Lockett caught five passes for 71 yards – including a 34-yarder – returned two kickoffs for a 23.5-yard average and rushed one time for a yard in Seattle's 27-24 comeback win over Green Bay on Thursday night. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native has 38 receptions for 554 yards and seven touchdowns this year, the latter setting a career high and tied for seventh in the seventh. The Seahawks, now 5-5 this year, are in second place in the NFC West and travel to face Carolina on Sunday.
Matt McCrane, PK – Arizona Cardinals
Spending time with Arizona in the preseason and also previously residing on their practice squad, McCrane made all three extra-point attempts for the Cardinals in their 23-21 loss to Oakland on Sunday. McCrane, who averaged 64.5 yards on four kickoffs with a pair of touchbacks, actually kicked for the Raiders earlier this year, making a field goal in overtime for the first win of the year over Cleveland. Arizona, which fell to 2-8 on the year, released McCrane on Monday.
Jordy Nelson, WR – Oakland Raiders
An 11th-year veteran who is in his first season with the Raiders, Nelson was inactive for Oakland's 23-21 last-second win at Arizona. The Riley, Kansas, product has 25 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns this year for the 2-8 Raiders, who travel to face Baltimore on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
An undrafted rookie free agent this past spring, Pringle was placed on injured reserve prior to the regular season. He finished the preseason with six receptions for 147 yards, including a four-catch, 122-yard effort in the final preseason game against Green Bay. His game against the Packers also included a 47-yard kickoff return. Kansas City dropped its second game of the year in the form of a 54-51 loss at the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. Despite the defeat, the Chiefs still hold a 9-2 record to sit atop the AFC West prior to their bye week.
D.J. Reed, DB – San Francisco 49ers
Reed, a fifth-round draft pick in this year's draft, and the San Francisco 49ers were off last week. San Francisco, which is 2-8 this season, travels to face Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
In the midst of his 14th NFL season, Sproles was inactive for Philadelphia's 48-7 loss at New Orleans on Sunday. The Olathe, Kansas, native has 19,216 career all-purpose yards to rank sixth in NFL history and first among active players. The Eagles are now 4-6 this season and host the New York Giants on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Whitehair, a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, registered his 42nd-straight start and 41st at center in Chicago's 25-20 Sunday-night home win over Minnesota. The Abilene, Kansas, product played on all 74 offensive snaps and made a tackle following a Bear fumble. Winners of four in a row, Chicago leads the NFC North and travels to face Detroit on Thanksgiving Day.
Jordan Willis, DE – Cincinnati Bengals
A third-round pick in last year's draft, Willis carded one tackle in Cincinnati's 24-21 narrow defeat at the hands of Baltimore on Sunday. Willis, who played on 37 defensive snaps and four special-teams plays, has 12 tackles this year and 37 for his career. Cincinnati fell to .500 on the year at 5-5 – tied for the second-best mark in the AFC North – and the Bengals host Cleveland on Sunday.
