Wildcats in the NFL – Week 12

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2018 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 11 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, CB – Houston Texans
Burton, who is on his third team this season, was inactive for Houston's 34-17 Monday-night win over Tennessee. The Manhattan, Kansas, native was signed off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad on October 31, while he also played in Atlanta's season opener – recording one tackle – and was with the Green Bay Packers a few weeks later. The Texans hold a two-game lead in the AFC South with an 8-3 record, and they host Cleveland on Sunday.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
An undrafted rookie free agent signee in 2015, Finney was in for five special-teams plays in Pittsburgh's 24-17 setback at Denver. The Andale, Kansas, product has played in 38 career games with nine starts, including two this year. The Steelers dropped to 7-3-1 on the season but still lead the AFC North prior to hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night.
Emmanuel Lamur, LB – Oakland Raiders
Lamur, a seventh-year linebacker, was inactive for Oakland's 34-17 loss at Baltimore. Lamur has played in 78 career games with 19 starts, and he has totaled 192 career tackles. Now 2-9 this season, the Raiders host Kansas City on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
A second-year player, Lee tied for team-high honors with seven tackles and batted away a pass among his 49 defensive snaps in San Francisco's 27-9 loss at Tampa Bay. A native of Blue Springs, Missouri, Lee has played in 25 career games with 34 tackles, 30 of which have come this year. The 49ers fell to 2-9 on the season, and they travel to face Seattle on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR/Returner – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett, a fourth-year pro, hauled in five passes for 107 yards – including a long of 43 yards – to go along with a 12-yard touchdown reception in Seattle's 30-27 win at Carolina. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native has 43 receptions for 661 yards and eight touchdowns this year, the latter setting a career high and tied for fifth in the NFL. The Seahawks improved to 6-5 this season and host San Francisco on Sunday.
Jordy Nelson, WR – Oakland Raiders
Nelson, an 11th-year veteran who is in his first season with the Raiders, rushed one time for -2 yards and was targeted once but did not have a reception in Oakland's 34-17 loss at Baltimore. The Riley, Kansas, product has 25 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns this year for the 2-9 Raiders, who host Kansas City on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
Pringle, an undrafted rookie free agent this past spring, was placed on injured reserve prior to the regular season. He finished the preseason with six receptions for 147 yards, including a four-catch, 122-yard effort in the final preseason game against Green Bay. His game against the Packers also included a 47-yard kickoff return. Kansas City, which holds the best record in the AFC at 9-2, travels to face Oakland on Sunday.
D.J. Reed, DB – San Francisco 49ers
A fifth-round draft pick in this year's draft, Reed carded a pair of tackles among his 22 defensive plays in San Francisco's 27-9 setback at Tampa Bay. The 49ers fell to 2-9 this year, and they travel to face Seattle on Sunday.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
Sproles, in the midst of his 14th NFL season, was inactive for Philadelphia's 25-22 victory at the New York Giants. The Olathe, Kansas, native has 19,216 career all-purpose yards to rank sixth in NFL history and first among active players. The Eagles improved to 5-6 this season and host Washington on Monday night.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Whitehair notched his 43rd-straight start and 42nd at center in Chicago's 23-16 Thanksgiving Day victory at Detroit. The Abilene, Kansas, product played on all 58 offensive snaps. The Bears, who have won five-straight games, lead the NFC North with an 8-3 record and travel to face the New York Giants on Sunday.

Willis, a third-round pick in last year's draft, made one tackle in Cincinnati's 35-20 home loss the Cleveland. Willis, who played on 29 defensive snaps and six special-teams plays, has 13 tackles this year and 38 for his career. Now 5-6 this season, the Bengals host Denver on Sunday.
