MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2018 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 10 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
Finney, an undrafted rookie free agent signee in 2015 who is in his third year on the active roster, played on four special-teams plays in Pittsburgh's 23-16 victory at Baltimore. A product of Andale, Kansas, who has played in 35 career games, Finney has started nine games in his career, including two this year. Pittsburgh improved to 5-2-1 on the season and hosts Carolina on Thursday night.
Emmanuel Lamur, LB – Oakland Raiders
A seventh-year linebacker, Lamur started and made two tackles in the Raiders' 34-3 Thursday-night loss at San Francisco. Lamur has played in 78 career games with 19 starts, and he has totaled 192 career tackles. Oakland fell to 1-7 on the year and faces the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
Lee, a second-year player, registered two tackles among his 25 defensive snaps while also playing on 20 special-teams plays in San Francisco's 34-3 Thursday-night win over Oakland. Lee has played in 23 career games with 26 tackles, 22 of which have come this year. The 49ers carded their second win of the year, improving to 2-7 prior to hosting the New York Giants on Monday.
Tyler Lockett, WR/Returner – Seattle Seahawks
A fourth-year pro, Lockett registered three catches for 22 yards, returned three punts for four yards and a kickoff 34 yards in Seattle's 25-17 home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native has 28 receptions for 416 yards and six touchdowns this year, the latter tying his career high (2015) and tied for eighth in the league. Seattle fell to .500 on the year at 4-4 and travels to face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Jordy Nelson, WR – Oakland Raiders
An 11th-year veteran who is in his first season with the Raiders, Nelson caught a pair of passes for 18 yards in Oakland's 34-3 Thursday-night loss at San Francisco. The Riley, Kansas, product has 25 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns this year for the 1-7 Raiders. He improved his career totals to 575 catches for 8,201 yards and 72 touchdowns. Oakland hosts the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
An undrafted rookie free agent this past spring, Pringle was placed on injured reserve prior to the season. He finished the preseason with six receptions for 147 yards, including a four-catch, 122-yard effort in the final preseason game against Green Bay. His game against the Packers also included a 47-yard kickoff return. Kansas City improved to 8-1 – the best record in the AFC – with a 37-21 win at Cleveland. The Chiefs host Arizona on Sunday.
D.J. Reed, DB – San Francisco 49ers
Reed, a fifth-round draft pick by San Francisco in this year's draft, played on six defensive snaps and 15 special-teams plays in the 49ers' 34-3 Thursday-night win over Oakland. San Francisco improved to 2-7 on the year and hosts the New York Giants on Monday night.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
In the midst of his 14th NFL season, Sproles and the Philadelphia Eagles were off last week. The Olathe, Kansas, native has 19,216 career all-purpose yards to rank sixth in NFL history and first among active players. The 4-4 Eagles open the second half of their season by hosting Dallas on Sunday night.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Whitehair, a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, made his 40th-straight start and 39th at center in Chicago's 41-9 rout at Buffalo. The Abilene, Kansas, product played on all 51 offensive snaps, while he made a tackle on a Bear interception. Chicago, now 5-3 this season, hosts Detroit on Sunday.

A third-round pick in last year's draft, Willis and the Cincinnati Bengals were off last week. Cincinnati, 5-3 on the year, opens the second half of its season by hosting New Orleans on Sunday.
