MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State junior Adam Holtorf was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list as the nation's premier center, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced Friday.
A product of Seward, Nebraska, Holtorf was joined on the 2018 watch list by 58 other centers across the nation, including five from the Big 12. It is the ninth time since 2003 a Wildcat is up for the award, including finalists Nick Leckey (2003) and B.J. Finney (2014).
Holtorf was a 13-game starter at center in 2017, helping lead a Wildcat offensive line that blocked for the third most rushing yards per carry (4.98) in school history. Additionally, the Wildcats finished seventh in school history in total rushing yards (2,584), which was highlighted by a K-State bowl record 344-yard effort in a win over UCLA in the Cactus Bowl.
Holtorf is also an accomplished student as the agribusiness major was a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American last year in addition to earning academic all-district honors and First Team Academic All-Big 12 accolades.
The Wildcats kick off the 2018 campaign on Saturday, September 1, when they host South Dakota. The game, which begins at 6:10 p.m., inside Bill Snyder Family Stadium, serves as the 10th-annual K-State Family Reunion and will be shown world-wide on ESPN3.
Season tickets are available for the 2018 season and start at just $199 for the mobile Flex Season Ticket, which can be purchased by clicking here. Single-game tickets for K-State's seven home games are on sale now, including a Wildcat 4 Pack for just $99 to the September 1 home opener. To purchase single-game tickets, please click here.
