Pronunciations: Davion (DAVE-eh-on) | Kasubke (KAH-soup-KEY) | Selton (SELL-ton) | Nijel (like Nigel)
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber announced the signing of four prep standouts to highlight the start of the Fall National Signing Period on Wednesday (November 13) with the additions of Davion Bradford (St. Louis, Mo./Mehlville), Luke Kasubke (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade), Selton Miguel (Orlando, Fla./West Oaks Academy) and Nijel Pack (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central).
The four-man recruiting class is a consensus Top 20 class nationally by several recruiting services, ranking No. 13 by 247Sports.com and No. 17 by Rivals.com. Historically speaking, it is the highest rated recruiting class under Weber and the highest collective class by K-State since recruiting rankings have been kept. All four players are rated among the Top 200 players nationally, while each is a member of the Rivals150.
The class ties for the largest Fall Signing Class in the Weber era and it includes players from three states (Florida, Indiana and Missouri) at four different positions (point guard, shooting guard, small forward and power forward).
"We are excited to welcome these four outstanding players and their families to K-State," said Weber. "We needed something of everything – point guard, shooting guard, wing and big guy – and we got that. Our staff did a great job of focusing on the right mix of guys. I always say if we can get a recruit to campus and we have a good chance of landing them because of the incredible fan support and family atmosphere we have here at K-State. We focused on these guys, got them to campus and we were able to get them committed.
"It is not an entire team, but you have a player represented in four of the five positions, who we think gives us a great nucleus when you combine it with the current freshmen class of Antonio (Gordon), DaJuan (Gordon) and Montavious (Murphy) for the future."
Breaking down each signee:
The class is highlighted by its first commit – Pack – who is ranked among the Top 150 players by three different services, including No. 80 by ESPN, No. 104 by 247Sports.com and No. 132 by Rivals.com. The Indiana Mr. Basketball candidate had a breakout performance this summer for the Indy Heat on the Nike EYBL tour, which included a triple-double at the Peach Jam Tournament.
St. Louis natives Bradford and Kasubke continue the pipeline to the River City, which includes current senior Xavier Sneed, junior Levi Stockard III and sophomore Shaun Williams. The duo are the 21st and 22nd St. Louis area signees dating back to Jack Thomas (1969-72) and includes 1980 Big Eight Newcomer of the Year Randy Reed (1980-82) and all-conference selections Vincent Jackson (1991-93), Nino Williams (2011-15) and D.J. Johnson (2012-17).
The tandem are also part of the MoKan Elite team that won the prestigious Peach Jam Tournament for the second time in four years in the summer of 2019. They join current true freshman Antonio Gordon as well as Will Spradling and Nino Williams as alumni of the MoKan Elite team.
The fourth signee – Selton Miguel – who currently plays for West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Florida, is the first player from Angola to play for the Wildcats. He was a member of the Angolan National Team at the 2018 FIBA U18 African Championships, where he ranked seventh in scoring at the tournament at 15.0 points per game and included double-digit scoring in 6 of 7 games with two 20-point games. He opened his final high school season on Tuesday night with 32 points and 8 assists in a 92-61 win over Potter's House.

Head coach Bruce Weber:
"Davion gives you that old-school big guy or as (former Marquette coach) Al Maguire would call 'aircraft carrier.' In modern basketball, you don't see that type of big guy anymore with the big body. He definitely gives us that physical presence inside. He is a young man that got a lot of exposure early who has gotten a lot of support around him to help keep him focused and to continue to work at his game. I thought his summer play was as good as I have seen him -- just his motor and his energy – and he was part of a championship with Luke."

"Luke (Kasubke) and Davion (Bradford) were a part of the ultra-successful MoKan Elite program who won a championship at the Peach Jam and good some nice recognition from that. Luke is a great shooter, but he is the type of player who wants to get better in all phases of the game and be a complete player. He has pretty good length for a shooting guard and he has really improved his athleticism."

"We really thought one of the key spots – we are going to have to replace Xavier (Sneed) – was to get an athletic wing. We saw Selton early. (Assistant coach) Jermaine (Henderson) did a great job of establishing a relationship with him, his family and his high school coach (Kenny Gillon). It helped a lot with him because of the exposure and success Barry (Brown, Jr.) had here. They knew Barry, so they watched K-State basketball. They appreciated what Barry did and the success he had here. Selton gives you that athletic wing. He is strong and can get to the basket. He is a really good 3-point shooter. And one of the things that I have been most surprised with him is that he is a good creater – a good passer – who can get in the paint and make plays for other people."
