MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2019 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 12 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, DB – Dallas Cowboys
A member of the Colts practice squad for over a month, Burton was signed to the Dallas Cowboys' active roster on November 20 but was inactive for the Cowboys' 44-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Dallas evened its record at 7-7 on the season to sit in a tie for first place in the NFC East with Philadelphia, and the Cowboys travel to face the Eagles on Sunday.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
An undrafted rookie free agent signee by Pittsburgh in 2015, Finney was in for two special teams plays in Pittsburgh's 17-10 home loss to Buffalo on Sunday night. The Steelers fell to 8-6 on the season but still hold the No. 6 seed in the AFC Playoffs prior to traveling to face the New York Jets on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – San Francisco 49ers
A native of Blue Springs, Missouri, Lee recorded a tackle on kickoff coverage among his 24 special teams plays in San Francisco's 29-22 home loss to Atlanta. The 49ers fell to 11-3 on the year to tie for first in the NFC West but currently hold the No. 5 seed in the NFC Playoffs. San Francisco hosts the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
In his fifth NFL season, Lockett registered eight catches for 120 yards – including a 19-yard touchdown – to help Seattle earn a 30-24 win at Carolina. Lockett is tied for 16th in the NFL with 75 catches, while he is 19th in yards with 994 and tied for 13th in touchdowns with seven. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, product is six yards shy of the first 1,000-yard season in his career. Seattle is 11-3 on the year and currently holds the No. 1 seed in the NFC Playoffs prior to hosting Arizona on Sunday.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Chicago Bears
A fifth-year veteran, Lucas made his sixth start of the season and 14th of his career when he lined up at right tackle and played on all 84 offensive snaps in Chicago's 21-13 loss at Green Bay. The Bears fell to 7-7 on the year and host Kansas City on Sunday night.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
An undrafted rookie free agent prior to the 2018 season, Pringle carded one tackle on punt coverage among his 13 special teams plays while also seeing time on six offensive snaps in Kansas City's 23-3 win over Denver. The Chiefs, now 10-4 on the year, currently hold the No. 3 seed in the AFC Playoffs before traveling to face Chicago on Sunday night.
D.J. Reed, DB – San Francisco 49ers
A fifth-round pick by San Francisco in last year's draft, Reed carded a pair of tackles among his 49 defensive snaps and six special teams plays in the 49ers' 29-22 home loss to Atlanta. Holding an 11-3 record to tie for first place in the NFC West but holding the No. 5 seed in the NFC Playoffs, San Francisco hosts the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night.
Dalton Risner, OL – Denver Broncos
A second-round selection in this year's draft, Risner was in for all 59 offensive snaps in Denver's 23-3 loss at Kansas City. Risner has seen time on 889 of the Broncos' 890 offensive snaps this year. Denver fell to 5-9 on the season, and they host Detroit on Sunday.

A sixth-round pick in this year's draft, Shelley was in for three special teams plays in Chicago's 21-13 loss at Green Bay. The Bears, who fell to 7-7 this season, host Kansas City on Sunday night.
Darren Sproles, RB/Returner – Philadelphia Eagles
In his 15th NFL season, Sproles was placed on injured reserve on November 15. The Olathe, Kansas, native ranks fifth in NFL history and first among active players in career all-purpose yards (19,696). Philadelphia earned its second-straight win in a 37-27 victory over Washington as it improved to 7-7 on the year to sit in a tie for first place in the NFC East. The Eagles host the team they are tied with, Dallas, on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Whitehair started his 62nd-consecutive game overall and sixth this season at center in Chicago's 21-13 loss at Green Bay. Whitehair played on all 84 offensive snaps as the Abilene, Kansas, native pushed his season snap total to 945. The Bears fell to 7-7 on the season and host Kansas City on Sunday night.
Jordan Willis, DE – New York Jets
Willis, who began his third NFL season with Cincinnati this year but was waived and quickly claimed by the Jets, was in for eight defensive snaps and seven special teams plays in New York's 42-21 Thursday-night loss at Baltimore. The Jets, who fell to 5-9 on the season, host Pittsburgh on Sunday.
