MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2020 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 13 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, DB – Dallas Cowboys
Burton, who was part of the active roster in Week 3, is back on the Cowboys' practice squad. Dallas earned a 37-34 win over the New York Giants to move to 2-3 this season. The Cowboys host Arizona on Monday night.
B.J. Finney, OL – Seattle Seahawks
In his first season with the Seahawks, Finney saw time on three special teams plays in Seattle's narrow 27-26 victory over Minnesota on Sunday night. The Seahawks enter their bye week with a perfect 5-0 record.
Elijah Lee, LB – Detroit Lions
Lee and the Detroit Lions were off on Week 5. The Lions, who are 1-3 this season, travel to face Jacksonville on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett came away with four receptions for 44 yards in Seattle's 27-26 Sunday-night home victory over Minnesota. Through five games this year, Lockett is tied for sixth in the league with four receiving touchdowns, while he is tied for 10th in catches (30). The 5-0 Seahawks are off this week.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Football Team
Lucas, a sixth-year veteran who is in his first season in Washington, was in for two special teams plays in the Washington Football Teams' 30-10 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Washington is now 1-4 this season and travels to face the New York Giants on Sunday.
Matt McCrane, K – Cleveland Browns
Matt McCrane is on Cleveland's practice squad after signing with the organization during Week 3. The Browns picked up a 32-23 victory over Indianapolis to improve to 4-1. Cleveland travels to face Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
Pringle hauled in one reception for 23 yards among his 10 offensive snaps, and he was also in for 20 special teams plays in Kansas City's 40-32 loss to Las Vegas. The Chiefs fell to 4-1 on the year but still lead the AFC West by one game. Kansas City travels to face Buffalo on Monday afternoon.
D.J. Reed Jr., DB – Seattle Seahawks
A fifth-round pick by San Francisco in 2018 who was claimed off waivers prior to the season, Reed is in his first campaign with the Seattle Seahawks but is on injured reserve. The Seahawks are now 5-0 following a 27-26 victory over Minnesota on Sunday night. Seattle is off this coming week.
Dalton Risner, OL – Denver Broncos
Risner, a second-round selection in last year's draft, and the Denver Broncos were off last week. Risner, who has started all 20 career games, has seen time on 1,253 of the Broncos' 1,291 offensive snaps (97.1%) since he began his career last year. The 1-3 Broncos travel to New England on Sunday.
Duke Shelley, DB – Chicago Bears
A sixth-round pick in last year's draft, Shelley was in for one defensive snap and 12 special teams plays in Chicago's 20-19 home victory over Tampa Bay on Thursday night. The Bears, now 4-1 on the season, travel to face Carolina on Sunday.
Reggie Walker – Arizona Cardinals
Walker, an undrafted free agent signee this past offseason, is on the practice squad for the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals earned a 30-10 win at the New York Jets to improve to 3-2. Arizona travels to face Dallas on Monday night.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Started his 69th-career game, Whitehair was in for all 63 offensive snaps in Chicago's narrow 20-19 victory over Tampa Bay on Thursday night. The Bears improved to 4-1 on the year – a half game behind Green Bay for first place in the NFC North – and they travel to face Carolina on Sunday.
Jordan Willis, DE – New York Jets
Willis was active but did not play in New York's 30-10 home loss to Arizona. Still in search of their first win of the season, the Jets travel to face Miami on Sunday.
