Wildcats in the NFL – Week 6

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2021 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 16 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Deante Burton, DB – Dallas Cowboys
In his fourth NFL season, Burton is on the Cowboys' practice squad. Dallas picked up its fifth-straight win with a 35-29 overtime victory at New England. The Cowboys enter their bye week with a 5-1 record.
B.J. Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
In his sixth NFL season and fifth in Pittsburgh, Finney was in for two special teams plays – which included the game-winning 37-yard field goal in overtime – in the Steelers' 23-20 victory over Seattle. Pittsburgh evened its record at 3-3 this season prior to its bye week.
Wyatt Hubert, DE – Cincinnati Bengals
Hubert, a seventh-round draft pick by Cincinnati in this year's draft, was hurt during the offseason and is on injured reserve. Cincinnati picked up a 34-11 victory at Detroit to improve to 4-2 on the year. The Bengals play their second of three-straight road games next week at Baltimore.
Elijah Lee, LB – Cleveland Browns
Lee, who was signed to the active roster last week after being elevated from the practice squad each of the first four games, was in for seven defensive snaps and 21 special teams plays in Cleveland's 37-14 home loss to Arizona. It was the Browns' second-straight loss to fall to 3-3 on the year. Cleveland has quick turnaround as they host Denver on Thursday night.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
Starting for the 77th time in his career, Lockett made two catches for 35 yards and returned one punt three yards in Seattle's 23-20 overtime loss at Pittsburgh on Sunday night. It was the Seahawks' second-straight defeat as they fell to 2-4 on the season. Seattle hosts New Orleans on Monday night.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Football Team
In his second year with Washington and eighth overall, Lucas earned his first start of the season and 23rd of his career when he was in for all 59 offensive snaps in Washington's 31-13 home loss to Kansas City. The loss dropped the Football Team to 2-4 this season, and they travel to take on Green Bay on Sunday.
Briley Moore, TE – Tennessee Titans
A rookie free agent signee by the Titans this past offseason, Moore was hurt during training camp and was placed on injured reserve. Tennessee earned a 34-31 Monday night home win over Buffalo to improve to 4-2 on the season, and the Titans host Kansas City on Sunday.
AJ Parker, DB – Detroit Lions
Parker, a rookie free agent signee this year, collected five tackles among his 49 defensive snaps and six special teams plays in Detroit's 34-11 home loss to Cincinnati. Now 0-6 this year, the Lions travel to face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
Pringle made his second start of the season and fifth of his career in Kansas City's 31-13 win at Washington. Pringle came away with three receptions for 55 yards and also returned on kickoff 23 yards. Pringle has 334 kickoff-return yards this year to rank third in the NFL. The Chiefs evened their record at 3-3 this season prior to a road contest at Tennessee on Sunday.
D.J. Reed Jr., DB – Seattle Seahawks
Reed, making his 16th-career start, came away with nine tackles and two pass breakups in Seattle's 23-20 overtime loss at Pittsburgh on Sunday night. Reed has started all six games this year and each of the last 11 dating back to last season. Now 2-4 this season, Seattle hosts New Orleans on Monday night.
Dalton Risner, OL – Denver Broncos
Risner earned the 37th start of his career and was in for all 81 offensive snaps in Denver's 34-24 home loss to Las Vegas. Risner has seen time on 2,301 of the Broncos' 2,501 offensive snaps (92.0%) since he began his career in 2019. After winning the first three games of the year, the Broncos are now on a three-game losing streak. They have a quick turnaround as they travel to face Cleveland on Thursday night.
Duke Shelley, DB – Chicago Bears
Shelley earned time on 10 special teams plays in Chicago's 24-14 home loss to Green Bay. The Bears dropped to 3-3 on the year prior to traveling to face Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Elijah Sullivan, LB – Kansas City Chiefs
Sullivan, a rookie free agent who was with San Francisco the entire preseason, was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad on September 11. Kansas City earned a 31-13 victory at Washington, and they travel to face Tennessee on Sunday.
Kiondre Thomas, DB – Los Angeles Chargers
A rookie free agent who spent the entire preseason with Cleveland, Thomas was signed to the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad on September 6. The Chargers lost at Baltimore, 34-6, and enter their bye week with a 4-2 record.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Whitehair made his 84th-career start and was in for all 61 offensive snaps in Chicago's 24-14 home loss to Green Bay. The Bears are now 3-3 this season and travel to take on Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Jordan Willis, DE – San Francisco 49ers
Willis, a defensive end who joined San Francisco midway through the 2020 season, is suspended for the first six games of 2021. The 2-3 49ers were off last week and come out of their bye by hosting Indianapolis on Sunday night.
