Jul 01, 2021 | Women's Golf
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State head women's golf coach Kristi Knight announced Thursday that assistant Jared Helin has been promoted to Associate Head Coach for the 2021-22 season.
"I have been fortunate to work alongside Coach Helin for the last four-plus years," Knight said. "He is a man of great character, and his experience and knowledge have made a positive impact on our players and on me. I look forward to continuing to work with Jared, and we are excited about the future of K-State women's golf."
Helin will begin his fifth full season at K-State in 2021-22 after being named an assistant coach for the Wildcats in December 2016. He has helped the Wildcats earn four team and three individual titles during that time. Additionally, Helin has helped tutor four Wildcats that rank in the top 10 in school history in single-season stroke average in Connie Jaffrey (3rd; 74.57), Madison Talley (5th; 74.84), Chloe Weir (6th; 75.11) and Paige Nelson (7th; 75.14).
A native Kansan, Helin was familiar with the Wildcats prior to taking the assistant coaching job as he worked full time at Colbert Hills beginning in July 2014. Helin graduated from Kansas State in 2015 with a degree in social sciences, and the Colby native also attended Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, California in 2008. He and his wife, Meghan, have one daughter, Palmer, and are expecting a boy later this month.
