
K-State Places 292 on Fall 2021 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State student-athletes had a strong fall semester in the classroom, as a total of 292 Wildcat student-athletes were named to the Fall 2021 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in an announcement from the league office. The conference recognizes all student-athletes at its member institutions during each semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The 292 student-athletes to earn the honor marks the 27th straight semester with an honor roll in which K-State has placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll. The 292 student-athletes on the Fall 2021 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll brings K-State's total for the last three semesters to 892 recipients.
Of the 292 K-State student-athletes earning the citation for their academic excellence, 83 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the fall semester.
The football and rowing teams led all Wildcat athletic teams with 7 and 57 honorees, respectively, on the Fall 2021 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Other total student-athletes on the honor roll include: men's track and field/cross country (35), women's track and field/cross country (34), soccer (27), baseball (24), volleyball (9), women's basketball (9), tennis (8), women's golf (8), men's basketball (5) and men's golf (2).
K-State, a Tier 1 Carnegie Foundation Institution, has had an outstanding start to the 2021-22 academic year by both individual student-athletes and by its teams.
The soccer program was honored this season by the United Soccer Coaches with its third Team Academic Award for their work in the classroom.
To date K-State student-athletes have been recognized by the conference with 74 Academic All-Big 12 recipients.
Brookelynn Entz of the soccer program was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Third Team, while football's Landry Weber and Deuce Vaughn and women's basketball's Ayoka Lee were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII First Team.
K-State Athletics saw 32 student-athletes receive their degrees in December 2021 graduation ceremonies in Bramlage Coliseum, with 18 obtaining their undergraduate degrees while the additional 14 earned graduate degrees, a second undergraduate degree or masters certificate.
K-State ranks among the league's best in terms of academic success as it continues to set a national standard in terms of APR, as all programs are currently well above the required NCAA standard.
