Ahearn Fund Announces Powering Excellence Initiative
Sep 15, 2022 | Athletics, Ahearn Fund
Manhattan, Kan. – K-State Athletics and Athletics Director Gene Taylor have announced a new annual fundraising effort, Powering Excellence, to position K-State Athletics atop the new Big 12 Conference and enhance the world-class student-athlete experience through philanthropic giving.
Â
"The foundation for K-State Athletics has been laid because of tremendous donor support provided for world-class facilities, but now is the time to invest in the resources to enhance our student-athlete experience and to provide them with what they need to compete for championships," Taylor said. "This fundraising effort is not a campaign with a dollar amount needed to be raised. It is a mindset within our athletics department and amongst our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. It's about continuously being the best in our conference in key areas that lead to championship success - an opportunity that is right in front of us."
The Powering Excellence initiative will focus on three pillars of Competitive Excellence, Health and Wellness, and Academic Support. Within those pillars specific attention will be prioritized to the following areas:
Â
Along with this new initiative, new donor benefits and levels have been created within the Ahearn Fund's National Leadership Circle to encourage philanthropic giving. The major benefit to all donors who contribute to Powering Excellence is four priority points per $100 given. To learn more about the National Leadership Circle, giving levels and donor benefits, click here.
Â
"With the changing landscape of our conference, there is no better time and opportunity for us to carve our place atop the new Big 12," Taylor added.
