
Pena Tabbed Collegiate Baseball’s National Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. – K-State baseball's Roberto Pena earned Collegiate Baseball's National Player of the Week recognition on Monday morning after his performance at the plate in week seven.
The Caracas, Venezuela product belted four home runs over five games to lead the Cats offense including a pair of homers in Sunday's contest against No. 24 West Virginia.
Pena becomes the Wildcats' first player to earn regular-season weekly honors and was one of seven players to earn the national award. He was joined by fellow Big 12 member Juaron Watts-Brown of Oklahoma State after the right-hander fanned 12 Texas batters in eight innings.
The senior slashed .571/.636/1.571 on the week with an incredible 2.208 OPS, scoring five runs with 14 RBI. Pena now ranks third in the Big 12 with 37 total RBI.
K-State will host Nebraska on Tuesday, April 3 at 6 p.m. inside Tointon Family Stadium. The non-conference game will be broadcasted on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with radio coverage available on News Radio KMAN (93.3 FM, 1350 AM) with free audio streaming at kstatesports.com/watch.
