MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2024 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 17 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE – Kansas City Chiefs
Anudike-Uzomah, a first-round draft pick last season, made his second career start as he came away with two tackles – including a tackle for loss on the first play of the game – in addition to a quarterback hit among his 35 defensive snaps to help Kansas City earn a 28-18 road win at San Francisco. The Chiefs are the only undefeated team in the NFL with a 6-0 record prior to a game at Las Vegas on Sunday.
Cooper Beebe, OL – Dallas Cowboys
Beebe, a third-round pick in this year's draft, and the Dallas Cowboys were off last week. The Cowboys, 3-3 this season, come out of their bye week by playing at San Francisco on Sunday night.
JuJu Brents, CB – Indianapolis Colts
A second-round selection last year, Brents was placed on injured reserve on September 10. The Colts picked up a 16-10 home win over Miami to improve to 4-3 this season, and they play at Houston on Sunday.
Khalid Duke, OLB – Tennessee Titans
An undrafted rookie free agent, Duke is on Tennessee's practice squad. The Titans dropped to 1-5 this season after a 34-10 loss at Buffalo, and they play at Detroit on Sunday.
Josh Hayes, DB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Hayes, a sixth-round selection in last year's draft, was in for 21 special teams plays during Tampa Bay's 41-31 home loss to Baltimore on Monday night. The loss dropped the Buccaneers to 4-3 this season prior to hosting Atlanta on Sunday.
Malik Knowles, WR – Green Bay Packers
Knowles, who has spent the last two training camps with Minnesota, signed with the Packers' practice squad last Wednesday. Green Bay picked up a 24-22 victory over Houston – its third-straight win – to improve to 5-2 this season, and the Packers are at the Jaguars on Sunday.
KT Leveston, OL – Los Angeles Rams
A seventh-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Rams, Leveston was placed on injured reserve on August 27 but is expected to return at some point this season. The Rams came out of their bye week with a 20-15 home win over Las Vegas to improve to 2-4, and they host Minnesota on Thursday night.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
In the midst of his 10th NFL season – all with the Seahawks – Lockett made his 127th-career start, hauling in four passes for 45 yards during Seattle's 34-14 win at Atlanta. The victory improved the Seahawks to 4-3 this season prior to hosting Buffalo on Sunday.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Commanders
A 10th-year pro, Lucas saw action on 54 offensive snaps to help Washington pick up a 40-7 win over Carolina. The win improved the Commanders to 5-2 this season prior to hosting Chicago on Sunday.
Adrian Martinez, QB – New York Jets
Martinez is in his first season on the Jets' practice squad. New York suffered its fourth-straight loss, a 37-15 defeat at Pittsburgh, to drop to 2-5 this season, and the Jets play at New England on Sunday.
D.J. Reed, DB – New York Jets
Reed, who is in his third season in New York, was inactive due to injury for the Jets' 37-15 loss at Pittsburgh. New York is now 2-5 this season prior to a game at New England on Sunday.
Dalton Risner, OL – Minnesota Vikings
Risner, who is in second season in Minnesota, was placed on injured reserve on August 27 but had his practice window opened last week as he now must either be placed on the active roster in the next two weeks or return to injured reserve for the remainder of the season. Minnesota came out of its bye week with a 31-29 setback to Detroit, its first loss of the season. The 5-1 Vikings have a quick turnaround as they play at Los Angeles on Thursday night.
Ben Sinnott, TE – Washington Commanders
A second-round selection in this year's draft, Sinnott's first career-catch was a three-yard touchdown, while he had another three-yard reception during Washington's 40-7 victory over Carolina. The Commanders are now 5-2 this season, and they host Chicago on Sunday.
Thompson, who is in his third season in Miami, was inactive for the Dolphins' 16-10 loss at Indianapolis. Miami is now 2-4 this season prior to hosting Arizona on Sunday.
Deuce Vaughn, RB – Dallas Cowboys
A sixth-round selection last year, Vaughn and the Dallas Cowboys were off last week. Dallas, which holds a 3-3 record this season, play at San Francisco on Sunday night.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Las Vegas Raiders
In his ninth NFL season and first in Las Vegas, Whitehair was in for five special teams plays during the Raiders' 20-15 loss at the Los Angeles Rams. Now 2-5 this season, Las Vegas hosts Kansas City on Sunday.
Russ Yeast, S – Carolina Panthers
After being released from the active roster on October 8, Yeast re-signed with the Panthers' practice squad two days later. Carolina fell to 1-6 this year after a 40-7 loss at Washington, and the Panthers are at Denver on Sunday.
