MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2024 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 17 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE – Kansas City Chiefs
A first-round draft pick last season, Anudike-Uzomah carded four tackles among his 37 defensive snaps to help Kansas City earn a 27-20 win at Las Vegas. The Chiefs remain undefeated at 7-0 prior to hosting Tampa Bay on Monday night.
Cooper Beebe, OL – Dallas Cowboys
A third-round pick in this year's draft, Beebe earned his seventh-straight start to open the season and was in for all 62 offensive snaps – including one in which he recovered a fumble by his teammate – during the Cowboys' 30-24 loss at San Francisco on Sunday night. Dallas is now 3-4 this season, and it plays at Atlanta on Sunday.
JuJu Brents, CB – Indianapolis Colts
Brents, a second-round selection last year, was placed on injured reserve on September 10. Indianapolis lost a close 23-20 decision at Houston to drop to 4-4 on the year, and the Colts host Minnesota on Sunday night.
Khalid Duke, OLB – Tennessee Titans
Duke, an undrafted rookie free agent, is on Tennessee's practice squad. The Titans suffered a 52-14 loss at Detroit to fall to 1-6 this season prior to hosting New England on Sunday.
Josh Hayes, DB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
A sixth-round selection in last year's draft, Hayes made five tackles among his 33 defensive snaps and was also in for 13 special teams plays during Tampa Bay's 31-26 home loss to Atlanta. The Buccaneers are now 4-4 this season, and they play at Kansas City on Monday.
Malik Knowles, WR – Green Bay Packers
After spending the last two training camps with Minnesota, Knowles is now on Green Bay's practice squad. The Packers improved to 6-2 this season via a 30-27 win at Jacksonville, and they host Detroit on Sunday.
KT Leveston, OL – Los Angeles Rams
Leveston, a seventh-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Rams, was placed on injured reserve on August 27 but is expected to return this season. LA won its second-straight game with a 30-20 victory over Minnesota on Thursday, and the Rams are at Seattle on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett, who is in his 10th NFL season – all with the Seahawks – recorded his 128th-career start and brought in one pass for nine yards during his 40 offensive snaps as Seattle lost at home to Buffalo, 31-10. The Seahawks, now 4-4 this season, host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Commanders
Lucas, a 10th-year pro, earned his 51st-career start and fifth this season as he played on 46 offensive snaps during Washington's 18-15 comeback win over Chicago. The Commanders are now 6-2 this year prior to a game at the New York Giants on Sunday.
Adrian Martinez, QB – New York Jets
Martinez is in his first season on the Jets' practice squad. New York suffered its fifth-consecutive defeat, a 25-22 loss at New England to fall to 2-6 this season. The Jets host Houston Thursday night.
D.J. Reed, DB – New York Jets
After missing the game the week prior due to injury, Reed returned to make his 62nd-career start and came away with four tackles in New York's 25-22 loss at New England. The Jets are now 2-6 this season and host Houston on Thursday night.
Dalton Risner, OL – Minnesota Vikings
In second season in Minnesota, Risner was placed on injured reserve on August 27 but had his practice window opened two weeks as he now must either be placed on the active roster in the next week or return to injured reserve for the remainder of the season. The Vikings lost their second-straight game, a 30-20 defeat at the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night as they are now 5-2 this season prior to hosting Indianapolis on Sunday night.
Ben Sinnott, TE – Washington Commanders
Sinnott, a second-round selection in this year's draft, was in for 16 offensive snaps and 14 special teams plays to help Washington earn an 18-15 come-from-behind win over Chicago on a last-second Hail Mary. The win improved the Commanders to 6-2 this season, and they play at the Giants on Sunday.
Skylar Thompson, QB – Miami Dolphins
In his third season in Miami, Thompson was active but did not play in the Dolphins' 28-27 loss against Arizona. Miami is now 2-5 this season and travels to face Buffalo on Sunday.
Deuce Vaughn, RB – Dallas Cowboys
Vaughn, a sixth-round selection last year, was active but did not play in Dallas' 30-24 loss at San Francisco on Sunday night. The 3-4 Cowboys travel to take on Atlanta on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Las Vegas Raiders
Whitehair, who is in his ninth NFL season and first in Las Vegas, saw time on 16 offensive snaps and four special teams plays during the Raiders' 27-20 home loss to Kansas City. Las Vegas suffered its fourth-straight defeat to fall to 2-6 this season prior to playing at Cincinnati on Sunday.
Russ Yeast, S – Carolina Panthers
Yeast was signed to the Panthers' active roster on Saturday and saw time on one special teams play the next day during Carolina's 28-14 loss at Denver. The Panthers fell to 1-7 on the year, and they host New Orleans on Sunday.
