MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2024 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 17 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE – Kansas City Chiefs
Anudike-Uzomah, a first-round draft pick last season, came away with four tackles – including a half sack – and a quarterback hit among his 34 defensive snaps in the Chiefs' 30-24 overtime victory over Tampa Bay on Monday night. Kansas City improved to 8-0 on the year prior to hosting Denver on Sunday.
Beebe, a third-round pick in this year's draft, made his eighth start in as many games and was in for 77 offensive snaps during the Cowboys' 27-21 loss at Atlanta. Dallas fell to 3-5 this season, and they host Philadelphia on Sunday.
JuJu Brents, CB – Indianapolis Colts
A second-round selection last year, Brents was placed on injured reserve on September 10. The Colts suffered a 21-13 loss at Minnesota on Sunday night to fall to 4-5 this season prior to hosting the Bills on Sunday.
Khalid Duke, OLB – Tennessee Titans
An undrafted rookie free agent, Duke is on the Titans' practice squad. Tennessee earned its second win of the season, a 20-17 overtime victory at home against New England. The 2-6 Titans are at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Josh Hayes, DB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Hayes, a sixth-round selection in last year's draft, recorded his first-career start and tallied six tackles, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery among his 79 defensive snaps in Tampa Bay's 30-24 overtime loss at Kansas City on Monday night. The Buccaneers dropped to 4-5 this season prior to hosting San Francisco on Sunday.
Malik Knowles, WR – Green Bay Packers
Knowles is on Green Bay's practice squad. The Packers lost at home to Detroit, 24-14, snapping a four-game winning streak. Green Bay is now 6-3 this season as it enters its bye week.
KT Leveston, OL – Los Angeles Rams
A seventh-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Rams, Leveston was placed on injured reserve on August 27 but is expected to return at some point this season. The Rams won their third-straight game and evened their record at 4-4 with a 26-20 overtime win at Seattle. LA hosts Miami on Monday night.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
In his 10th NFL season – all with the Seahawks – Lockett made his 129th-career start and recorded three catches for 63 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown reception, in Seattle's 26-20 overtime home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Seattle has now lost five of its last six games and enters its bye week with a 4-5 record.
A 10th-year pro, Lucas was inactive for Washington's 27-22 win at the New York Giants. The Commanders won their third-straight game and improved to 7-2 this season as they host Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Adrian Martinez, QB – New York Jets
Martinez is in his first season on the Jets' practice squad. New York earned a 21-13 win over Houston Thursday night to snap a five-game losing streak, as the Jets are now 3-6 this season before playing at Arizona on Sunday.
D.J. Reed, DB – New York Jets
Reed earned his 63rd-career start and finished with five tackles, including a sack, a quarterback hit and a pass breakup to help New York earn a 21-13 win over Houston on Thursday night. The victory snapped a five-game Jet losing streak and improved their record to 3-6 this season prior to a game at Arizona on Sunday.
Dalton Risner, OL – Minnesota Vikings
Risner, who is in his second season in Minnesota, returned from injured reserve to see time on five special teams plays in the Vikings' 21-13 home win over Indianapolis on Sunday night. Minnesota improved to 6-2 with the win, and the Vikings play at Jacksonville on Sunday.
Ben Sinnott, TE – Washington Commanders
A second-round selection in this year's draft, Sinnott made his first-career start and tallied one reception for 12 yards among his 24 offensive snaps in addition to playing on eight special teams plays in Washington's 27-22 win at the New York Giants. The Commanders are now 7-2 this season following their third-straight win, and they host Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Skylar Thompson, QB – Miami Dolphins
Thompson, who is in his third season in Miami, was active but did not play in the Dolphins' 30-27 loss at Buffalo. It was Miami's third-straight loss as the Dolphins are now 2-6 this season, and they play at the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.
Deuce Vaughn, RB – Dallas Cowboys
A sixth-round selection last year, Vaughn saw time on three special teams plays during Dallas' 27-21 loss at Atlanta. The Cowboys fell to 3-5 on the season, and they host Philadelphia on Sunday.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Las Vegas Raiders
In his ninth NFL season and first in Las Vegas, Whitehair made his 121st-career start and third this season when he lined up at left guard during the Raiders' 41-24 loss at Cincinnati. It was the fifth-straight loss for Las Vegas, which fell to 2-7 prior to its bye week.
Ty Zentner, P – Los Angeles Rams
Zentner, who is in his second NFL season, was signed to the Rams' practice squad last Friday and elevated to the active roster for LA's 26-20 overtime win at Seattle. Zentner punted seven times for a 40.1-yard average, while three of his punts landed inside the Seahawks' 20-yard line. He also served as the holder as he was in for 12 total special teams plays. The Rams improved to 4-4 on the year with their third-straight win, and they host Miami on Monday night.
