MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week throughout the 2024 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 17 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE – Kansas City Chiefs
Anudike-Uzomah, a first-round draft pick a year ago, saw time on nine defensive snaps in Kansas City's 21-7 win at Cleveland. The Chiefs are now 13-1 this season – the best record in the NFL – as they prepare to host Houston on Saturday.
Cooper Beebe, OL – Dallas Cowboys
Beebe, a third-round pick in this year's draft, was inactive for Dallas' 30-14 win at Carolina on Sunday. The Cowboys are now 6-8 this season and remain in the playoff hunt as they host Tampa Bay on Sunday night.
JuJu Brents, CB – Indianapolis Colts
A second-round selection last year, Brents was placed on injured reserve on September 10. The Colts hold a 6-8 record this season following a 31-13 loss at Denver and are still in the hunt for the playoffs as they host Tennessee on Sunday.
Ekow Boye-Doe, CB – New York Giants
A rookie free agent last year for Kansas City, Boye-Doe was signed to the Giants' practice squad last week. New York dropped to 2-12 on the season with a 35-14 home loss to Baltimore, and the Giants are at Atlanta on Sunday.
Khalid Duke, OLB – Tennessee Titans
An undrafted rookie free agent, Duke is on the Titans' practice squad. Tennessee suffered a 37-27 home setback to Cincinnati to fall to 3-11 this season, and the Titans are at Indianapolis on Sunday.
Josh Hayes, DB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Hayes, a sixth-round selection in last year's draft, made a pair of tackles on kickoff coverage among his 13 special teams plays, helping the Buccaneers pick up a 40-17 win at the Los Angeles Chargers. Tampa Bay holds a one-game lead in the NFC South with an 8-6 record prior to playing at Dallas on Sunday night.
KT Leveston, OL – Los Angeles Rams
A seventh-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Rams, Leveston was placed on injured reserve in August and was designated to return to practice last month, but he was not put on the active roster as his season came to an end. The Rams earned a 12-6 win at San Francisco on Thursday night as they are in a tie for first place in the NFC West at 8-6 before a game at the New York Jets on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
In his 10th NFL season – all with Seattle – Lockett had a 22-yard catch during the Seahawks' 30-13 home loss to Green Bay. Seattle dropped into a tie for first place in the NFC West with the Rams at 8-6, and the Seahawks host Minnesota on Sunday.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Commanders
A 10th-year pro, Lucas saw time on six special teams plays during the Commanders' 20-19 win at New Orleans. Washington is in second place in the division but currently holds the final playoff spot in the NFC with a 9-5 record. The Commanders host Philadelphia on Sunday.
Adrian Martinez, QB – New York Jets
Martinez is on the Jets' practice squad. New York picked up a 32-25 victory at Jacksonville to improve to 4-10 this season, and the Jets host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
D.J. Reed, DB – New York Jets
Reed, who has made 67 starts in his career, was inactive for the Jets' 32-25 win at Jacksonville. New York is now 4-10 this season prior to hosting the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Dalton Risner, OL – Minnesota Vikings
Risner, who is in his sixth NFL season and second with the Vikings, made his fifth start of the year and 78th of his career as he was in for all 77 offensive snaps to help Minnesota pick up a 30-12 home win over Chicago. The Vikings are tied for the NFC North lead at 12-2, and they play at Seattle on Sunday.
Ben Sinnott, TE – Washington Commanders
A second-round selection in this year's draft, Sinnott earned his second-career start and had one catch for seven yards to help Washington pick up a 20-19 win at New Orleans. The Commanders currently hold the final playoff spot in the NFC East at 9-5 – three games back of the Eagles for the NFC East lead – and Washington hosts Philadelphia on Sunday.
Skylar Thompson, QB – Miami Dolphins
Thompson, who is in his third season in Miami, was released from the active roster prior to Miami's 20-12 loss at Houston. However, he resigned with the team's practice squad on Tuesday. The Dolphins are 6-8 this season and remain alive for a Wild Card spot as they host San Francisco on Sunday.
Deuce Vaughn, RB – Dallas Cowboys
A sixth-round selection last year, Vaughn was inactive for Dallas' 30-14 win at Carolina. The Cowboys, who are still alive for the playoffs, are 6-8 this season prior to hosting Tampa Bay on Sunday night.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Las Vegas Raiders
In his ninth NFL season and first in Las Vegas, Whitehair was in for four offensive snaps during the Raiders' 15-9 home loss to Atlanta on Monday night. Las Vegas is now 2-12 this season, and they host Jacksonville on Sunday.
Russ Yeast, S – Houston Texans
Yeast is on Houston's practice squad. The Texans improved to 9-5 this season with a 20-12 home win over Miami as they lead the AFC South by three games. Houston plays at Kansas City on Saturday.
