Pelletier Tabbed to Buster Posey Catcher of the Year Watch List

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Raphael Pelletier was tabbed to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List, following the Wichita Sports Commission's announcement.
The winner of the national award, which honors the nation's top Division I collegiate catcher as voted by head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced June 26 at the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet.
In addition to Pelletier, the 63-man watch list features just one other catcher from the Big 12 with Houston's Anthony Tulimero.
A native of Mascouche, Quebec, Canada, Pelletier has started in all but two games behind the plate this season. Pelletier is slashing .262/.428/.525 on the year with a team-leading nine home runs and has driven in 27 runs.
In his last five games, the redshirt-junior has generated an incredible 1.395 OPS with two home runs and four doubles. He turned in his first career multi-home run game in Saturday's 7-2 defeat over Oklahoma State.
Last season, Pelletier caught a league-high 16 runners stealing, totaling 32 in his career at K-State.
K-State (25-15, 9-9 Big 12) takes on TCU (24-15, 8-13 Big 12) in an important three-game Conference series, starting Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth.
