K-State Places 38 on 2023-24 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State student-athletes continued to receive honors and accolades for their hard work in the classroom in 2023-24, as 38 Wildcats were named to the 2023-24 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team in an announcement by the conference office on Wednesday.
K-State soccer led the way with nine selections, while football and men's track and field/cross country each featured six honorees. The Wildcats rowing team tallied four recipients, with women's tennis adding three, women's track and field/cross country, women's golf and men's golf each carded two honorees. The baseball, men's basketball, volleyball and women's basketball teams each had one recipient.
The Wildcats saw 10 student-athletes earn the honor with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The 10 recipients with 4.0 GPAs were: Paige Baker (women's track and field), Julia Ballester (women's golf), Devin Chappel (men's track and field), Jill Harkin (tennis), Madelyn Navrkal (rowing), Emily Northcutt (rowing), Taryn Sides (women's basketball), Symone Sims (volleyball), Tavon Underwood (men's track and field), Reece Walrod (soccer).
The remaining honorees for the Wildcats on the 2023-24 Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team are: Isaac Ativie (men's track & field), Harry Bent (men's golf), Ty Brechler (men's cross country), Jack Fabris (football), Wesley Fair (football), James Guyette (baseball), Joe Jackson (football), Brooklyn Jones (women's track & field), RJ Jones (men's basketball), Charlotte Keitel (tennis), Harmony Leiker (rowing), Riley Marx (men's track & field), Simon McClannan (football), Alenka Navarro (women's golf), Asa Newsom (football), Crosby Nicholson (soccer), Jacob Norris (men's cross country), Chiddi Obiazor (football), Anna Pagano (soccer), Lily Patterson (soccer), Tereza Polakova (tennis), Bryant Polhill (men's golf), Laney Reishus (soccer), Regan Reker (rowing), Rilyn Rintoul (soccer), Jo Sees (soccer), Morgan Struttmann (soccer) and Acacia Weis (soccer).
