K-State to Host 7th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day Event

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Athletics will host a pregame clinic from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., on Saturday, February 15, in the Ice Basketball Training Facility in conjunction with the women's basketball game against UCF to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day. 
 
The clinic is open to kids in the first through eighth grades and will be hosted by K-State women's athletic teams. All participants will receive a free K-State fitness towel courtesy of Furniture Mall and free admission to the game at 4 p.m.
  
To register your school, team or individual for this event, visit www.kstatesports.com/NGWSD. All participants must pre-register by Friday, February 7. Act fast, as registration has filled up prior to the deadline the past three seasons.
 
All general admission tickets for the Big 12 matchup against UCF are available for just $14 plus tax. To purchase tickets, please contact the K-State Athletic Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS or visit www.kstatesports.com.

This February marks the 39th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). The Women's Sports Foundation leads the nationwide celebration inspiring girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power. The confidence, strength and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls and women need to become strong leaders in sports and life.
