Today we continue a series of "Get to Know" features on the newest members of the 2025-26 Kansas State men's basketball team. We continue with freshman guard Andrej Kostic (Belgrade, Serbia/Crvena zevda Meridian bet Beograd), who is one of 10 newcomers, and one of 4 international players.

  1. Kostic is one of 5 international players on the K-State roster.
The 6-foot-7, 200-pound freshman guard is one of 5 international players on the K-State roster in 2025-26, which includes fellow juniors Dorin Buca (Perugia, Italy), Mobi Ikegwuruka (Galway, Ireland) and Elias Rapieque (Berlin, Germany) and sophomore Stephen Osei (Toronto, Ontario). The 5 international players are the most on any Wildcat team in school history.
 
Kostic is the first-ever Serbian-born basketball player at K-State. In fact, he is one of just 24 foreign-born players in school history, and one of just seven players from the European continent, along with his current teammates. Other European Wildcats include Dramane Diarra (Paris, France, 2003-05), David N'Guessan (De Lier, The Netherlands, 2022-25) and Ivan Sulic (Split, Croatia, 1999-2002).
 
  1. Kostic grew up in the KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet club in his hometown of Belgrade.
Kostic grew up in the KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet club, which was founded in 1945 and is a founding member and shareholder of the Adriatic Basketball Association. They compete in the Serbian League (KLS), the ABA League and the top-tier EuroLeague. They are one of the most successful clubs in Serbia history with 24 National League championship, 14 National Cup titles, 7 Adriatic League Championships, one Adriatic Supercup and one FIBA Saporta Cup.
 
Kostic made his debut with KK Crvena Zvezda Youth team at the age of 15 during the 2022-23 season, playing in 3 games in the adidas Next Generation Tournament and averaging 4.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
 
This past season, Kostic played in 41 games with 8 starts with KK Crvena Zvezda in various leagues, averaging 13.8 points, 2.6 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 22.4 minutes per game. He played 29 games with KK Dynamic in the Serbia League (KLS), averaging 16.4 points on 43.2 percent shooting with 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27.3 minutes per game.
 
  1. Kostic was a member of the Serbian U18 and U19 National Teams.
Kostic was a member of the Serbian U18 and U19 National Teams, winning the gold medal at the 2023 European U18 Championship in Nils, Serbia and a silver medal at the 2024 European U18 Championship in Tampere, Finland. He played in 7 games for the Serbian team at the 2024 FIBA U18 Eurobasket, averaging 12 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 25.3 minutes per game.
 
Most recently, Kostic played on Serbia's U19 National Team at the 2025 U19 World Cup that run from June 28 to July 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He helped the Serbian team to 3 straights wins to end the tournament, including a 22-point comeback against Argentina on July 5, as he averaged 23.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in that span.
 
  1. Kostic starred at the 2025 Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy
Kostic emerged as one of the top prospects in Europe at the 2025 Adidas Eurocamp, which ran from May 31 to June 2 in Treviso, Italy. The Adidas Eurocamp is a premier pre-draft scouting event for European player ages 16-22. He was named to the All-Eurocamp Five, as he averaged 11 points, 1.7 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game. He scored a tournament-high 19 points vs. 3SSB Select on June 1 then had 15 points vs. Next Gen later that day.
 
Kostic also performed well at the 2024 Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Belgrade, averaging 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 4 games as his team reached the final.
