Pronunciation Guide Today we continue a series of "Get to Know" features on the newest members of the 2025-26 Kansas State men's basketball team. We continue with sophomore wing Stephen Osei (Toronto, Ontario/NBA Academy/Casper College), who is one of 10 newcomers, and one of 4 international players.

  1. Osei is one of 5 international players on the K-State roster.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound sophomore wing is one of 5 international players on the K-State roster in 2025-26, which includes fellow juniors Dorin Buca (Perugia, Italy), Mobi Ikegwuruka (Galway, Ireland) and Elias Rapieque (Berlin, Germany) and freshman Andrej Kostic (Belgrade, Serbia). The 5 international players are the most on any Wildcat team in school history.
 
Osei is the fifth Canadian-born basketball player at K-State, joining Justin Edwards (2014-16), Kaosi Ezeagu (2020-22), Juevol Myles (2010-11) and Rudi Williams (2020-21). He is one of just 24 foreign-born players in school history.
 
  1. Osei played last season at Casper College in junior college ranks.
Osei transferred to K-State after playing one season at Casper College in Casper, Wyo., in the junior college ranks. He helped the Thunderbirds to a 25-7 record, including a 10-2 mark in conference play, and a trip to the Region 9 Tournament semifinals in 2024-25.
 
In earning Fab 50 Freshman honors from JUCORecruiting.com, Osei averaged 11 points on a team-best 63.8 percent (113-of-177) shooting to go with 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 21.2 minutes per game. He scored in double figures in 15 games, including three 20-point games. He twice scored a season-high 23 points vs. Yavapai College on Nov. 18, 2024, and then again vs. Lamar Community College on Jan. 11. He also collected 7 double-doubles, including a 23-point, 11-rebound performance against Yarapai College.
 
While at Casper College, Osei played alongside future teammate Abdi Bashir Jr.'s twin brother, Abdul, who currently plays at Auburn. Abdul Bashir led the NJCAA in scoring at 27.2 points per game.
 
  1. Osei was a member of the Canadian U16 and U17 National Teams.
Osei was a member of the Canadian U16 and U17 National Teams, winning the bronze medal at the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship in Xalapa, Mexico. He played in 6 games for the Canadian team at the tournament, averaging 6.0 points on 37.8 percent shooting (14-of-37) with 3.3 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game. He scored a tournament-high of 12 points vs. Argentina on August 23, 2021.
 
Most recently, Osei played for the Canadians at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup in Spain. He averaged 9.9 points on a team-best 61.4 percent (27-of-44) shooting from the field with 5.1 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 21.7 minutes per game. He was second on the Canadian team in both scoring and rebounding. He scored in double figures in 4 World Cup games, including a high of 19 points against Argentina on July 9, 2022.
 
  1. Osei played at the NBA Academy in Mexico after playing at Salt Lake Academy.
Osei honed his skills at the NBA Academy in Mexico after playing 2 seasons (2021-23) at Salt Lake Academy in Herriman, Utah. He played in 34 games for the Griffins, averaging 4.4 points on 61 percent shooting with 2.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. He scored a season-high 16 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting his senior season in 2022-23.
 
  1. Osei is the fifth Canadian-born player at K-State.
Osei is the fifth Canadian-born basketball player at K-State, joining Justin Edwards (2014-16), Kaosi Ezeagu (2020-22), Juevol Myles (2010-11) and Rudi Williams (2020-21). He is one of just 24 foreign-born players in school history. Edwards is by far the most successful Canadian Wildcat, averaging 9.6 points on 42.2 percent shooting with 4.6 rebounds per game in playing in 65 games with 44 starts for head coach Bruce Weber from 2014-16.
