Wildcats Wrap Up Competition in H-E-B Invitational

Three Wildcats went 3-3 in singles competition in the final two days of play
WACO, Texas- The K-State women's tennis team had three Wildcats wrap up the final two days of competition in the H-E-B Invitational on Sunday (November 9) at Hurd Tennis Center.
Freshman Diana Smolinska won both of her remaining singles matches to go 2-1 over the weekend. On Sunday she was successful in three sets, after dropping the first set against Risa Ueno from Illinois, she battled back for a high scoring match at 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Junior Margaret Jaraczewski went 1-1 in her last two matches, encountering her own three set battle. On Saturday (November 8) she swept Milica UTSA's Milica Vasiliki Milosavljevic in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5 but was stopped short on the last day of play.
The first two sets against Rice's Valentina Ponce Serrano had a similar score but facing a final tiebreaker, Jaraczewski could not hold on for a 2-6, 6-2, 7-10 score.
Facing two opponents from Rice, freshman Martaa Chogsomjav could not gain her footing with consecutive losses. She started off the first day on Friday with a win over Baylor's Ivkovic at 6-3, 6-4.
After two days of competition in the ITA Central Sectional Championship in College Station, Texas, neither junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav or sophomore Chanel Rustemova played in singles or doubles the final two days.
