This is the first All-Big 12 selection for the Wildcats since 2022
MANHATTAN, Kan.- Sophomore Maralgoo Chogsomjav was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team Singles on Wednesday (April 30) as announced by the conference. Chogsomjav is the first Wildcat to receive All-Big 12 honors since 2022 when assistant coach Maria Linares finished her senior season, also named to the Second Team.

Chogsomjav, an Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia native, was previously named Big 12 Player of the Week on February 25 for the first time in her career, prior to conference play. Last season, she was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

"Incredibly proud of Maggie for her accomplishments on the court," head coach Jordan Smith said. "She has always been someone that we can count on and loves giving her best to help K-State win. She'll continue getting better and will achieve more accolades in the future."

During the year, Chogsomjav went 20-11 in singles play with an 8-3 Big 12 record. In two seasons she has achieved 30 singles wins for a 30-14 (13-5) career record.

She ended the season playing in the no. 1 spot, going 2-2 in the last two regular season and Big 12 Championship matches. The rest of the spring she split between the no. 2 and 3 courts, going undefeated in the no. 3 spot at 7-0.

Chogsomjav faced 10 three-set matches for an 8-2 record, a perfect 5-0 against conference opponents. She encountered five ranked opponents going 1-2, that one win on April 11 against Iowa State's then-ranked #119 Anna Supapitch Kuearum, in her last match to three sets at 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles action this season she went 17-15, in the spring with partner Charlotte Keitel for a 10-9 record and during the fall primarily with Maria Santos at 5-6.

24 women were named to the All-Big 12 First and Second Team Singles, Oklahoma State and UCF leading the conference with the most selections at four and three, respectively.
