Jun 15, 2025 | Track & Field
K-State had six All-Americans and three more women with Honorable Mention
EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Shalom Olotu was the final Wildcat to earn postseason accolades on Saturday (June 14) at the NCAA Championship at Hayward Field. After three more performances on the last day of competition, six Wildcats were named All-Americans with three more Honorable Mentions.
Â
Olotu, a native of Allen, Texas, earned her second Second Team All-American honor in three days, this time in the triple jump with a distance of 13.02m (42' 8 ¾") in 12th place.
Â
Olotu competed in the long jump on Thursday, earning her first career All-America nod as Second Team with a 15th place finish at 6.14m (20' 1 ¾"). Olotu is the first Wildcat since Akela Jones in 2015 to earn two or more All-America accolades in individual events.
Â
"She's a senior that came to the national meet for the first time in two events," head coach Travis Geopfert said. "So, I really want to applaud her, her efforts, her grit, her perseverance. The confidence that she's gained as an athlete and as a young woman, is remarkable, in large part to her to coach Clive Pullen, he's done a great job with her, and I'm just so proud of her."
Â
Georgia's women won the national title with 73 points while Texas A&M and USC's men tied for first place with 41 points on Friday. The K-State men's team finished tied for 30th place, with Iowa State, Miami (Fla.) and Washington, in the team rankings with 10 points.
Â
Junior Tamaiah Koonce finished 17th in the discus throw with a distance of 54.85m (179' 11") for All-America Honorable Mention. That throw was her second-best distance this season, behind only her performance at the NCAA West Preliminary throw of 55.99m (183' 8") that led her to her first NCAA Championship appearance.
Â
Junior Sharie Enoe competed in the high jump with a clearance of 1.74m (5' 8 ½") to tie for 19th place, also an Honorable Mention selection. Throughout the season Enoe cleared heights over 5' 11" in four meets, including achieving for personal best height again at 1.88m (6' 2") at the Big 12 Championship.
Â
On Thursday, senior Monique Hardy finished 12th in the hammer throw with a distance of 65.17m (213' 9") for her first outdoor Second Team All-America honor. Junior Safhia Hinds was the third Wildcat to earn Second Team All-America honors after finishing 13th in the 400 meter hurdles in 57.18 seconds. Also in the 400 meter hurdles, junior Jourdin Edwards finished 18th in 58.16 seconds for Honorable Mention.
Â
"That's a wrap for the NCAA season. I'm very thankful to have the opportunity to lead this program. I appreciate our staff tremendously. I do believe we have the best coaching staff in the country, privileged to be able to work with them. I'm really excited for the future of Kansas State." Geopfert said.

Head Coach Travis Geopfert
On the sprinters that qualified for nationals…
"We have both 400 hurdlers returning, Safhia and Jourdin, those two just did an amazing job this year in improving and being more consistent. Proving to themselves that they belong on this stage, and I know they're excited for next year to continue to improve."
Â
On the throwers progress this season…
"Tamaiah, she just did a fantastic job. You know, had a rough first throw, but then really stepped up and had her second best throw of the season. You know, the last two meets for her have been absolutely fantastic, more confidence, more consistency. Same thing with Monique Hardy. She just did a great job, and she's back next year indoors, with more confidence, more consistency."
Â
On Sharie Enoe's year of competition…
"Sharie, in the high jump, you know, first team all American indoors, and it's her first time here at the outdoor national championships. But she continued to be consistent all year long, jumping 6' 1", to 6' 2" consistently, taking looks at higher bars. And I know she wanted more today, but I'm so proud of that young woman, and just excited for her future more than anything else, because I know in the high jump, in particular, when you become consistent, then those high bars come, and there's a lot of exciting things ahead for her."
