MANHATTAN, Kan. – Purple Reign – Kansas State's men's basketball alumni team – will play a first-round, best-of-three series with the Kansas alumni team – JHX Hoops – in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) on July 21-24, including at least one matchup at Bramlage Coliseum.
As part of the best-of-three series, both teams will have a chance to host at least one home game with the first occurring at Bramlage Coliseum on Tuesday, July 21 at 8 p.m., CT, on FS1. The second game will be played at Lee Arena in Topeka (JHX Hoops designated home gym) on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m., CT on FS2. If a third game is necessary, it will be played back at Bramlage Coliseum on Friday, July 24 at 8 p.m., CT and will be streamed live on YouTube.

The Purple Reign team will be led by former First Team All-American Michael Beasley, while the JHX Hoops team will be led by Frank Mason III.
TBT formally unveiled a new format on Monday (May 18), as the annual summer tournament will now feature just 16 teams – eight Alumni and eight Non-Alumni – competing on two separate sides of the bracket with a winner-take-all $2 million prize.
"We have wanted to see Frank Mason II and Michael Beasley face off for a number of years," said TBT found and CEO Jon Mugar. The $2 million match is going to be electrifying, and exactly what fans will want to see out of summer basketball. We can't wait to play in Bramlage."
The winner of the Purple Reign/JHX Hoops series will face the winner of the Wichita State-New Mexico series in a single-game second round matchup on Monday, July 27 at 8 p.m., CT on FS1.
The other Alumni Bracket matchups include Kentucky-Louisville and Syracuse-Seton Hall. The Alumni Bracket Championship will be played on Wednesday, July 29 at 6 p.m., CT on FS1.
Following the best-of-three series, the tournament will return to a single-elimination for the future rounds with five wins needed to secure the TBT's $2 million prize.
TBT's eight Non-Alumni teams will compete in the Las Vegas Bracket, a single-location event to be played entirely at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas from July 22-30.
The winner of the Las Vegas Bracket will play the winner of the Alumni Bracket on Sunday, August 2 on FOX at the Alumni Bracket champion's home court.
Purple Reign, which is organized by former Wildcats Jordan Henriquez-Roberts, D.J. Johnson and Martavious Irving, is in their ninth year competing in the TBT. Henriquez-Roberts, who has been the head coach for the past 5 summers, and Irving are part of the winningest class in school history (101 victories) as well as the first team to win a conference championship in 36 years in 2013.
In addition to Beasley, the Purple Reign team is expected to include all-time leading scorer and K-State Sports Hall of Fame inductee Jacob Pullen (2007-11) and Xavier Sneed (2016-20).
