K-State to Renew Wichita State Rivalry December 11

The in-state rivals will play at T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State will renew its in-state rivalry with Wichita State in the Wildcat Classic on Friday, December 11 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
Season ticket holders can request discounted tickets for the Wildcat Classic during the renewal process or after purchasing new seats starting online only at 5 p.m., CT, on Tuesday, June 16 with a deadline of July 31. Requests will be allocated in Ahearn Fund priority point order.
Public tickets will go on sale through the K-State ticket office this fall.
This will mark the second time that the schools have met in the Wildcat Classic with K-State earning a 69-60 win over WSU in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,660 at T-Mobile Center in 2023. Overall, this will be the 14th Wildcat Classic game since 2007 with K-State winning 10 of the last 13 previous Classics. The Wildcats lost to Drake in overtime in the last matchup in 2024.
This will be the 36th meeting between K-State and WSU, including the fifth since 2021. The Wildcats lead the series, 23-12, with 5 wins in the last 6 meetings. The Shockers posted an 84-65 win in the last meeting in 2024 at Koch Arena in Wichita.
K-State is 25-26 all-time at the T-Mobile Center, including a 1-1 mark in the Hall of Fame Classic last season with a win over Mississippi State and a loss to Nebraska.
WSU is coming off a 24-win season in 2025-26, including a tie for second-place in the American Conference with a 13-5 mark, under fourth-year head coach Paul Mills. The Shockers knocked off Wyoming and Oklahoma State in the NIT before losing to conference rival Tulsa in the quarterfinals.
K-State will be under the direction of first-year head coach Casey Alexander with his 14-man roster reporting to Manhattan next week.
The rest of the non-conference schedule is still being finalized, but the Wildcats have already announced their participation in the Players Era 16 on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas against perennial NCAA Tournament participant Gonzaga.
