Chogsomjav Sisters Featured in ITA Central Regional Rankings

This is the second postseason accolades for the sisters from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team was featured in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Rankings on June 3 in the team, singles and doubles rankings.
In the Central Region, the Wildcats ranked #8 after finishing the season 9-14, including going .500 playing at home with a 6-6 record. Other conference schools in the region include Kansas and Oklahoma State.
In the singles rankings, both junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav and freshman Martaa Chogsomjav are listed at #18 and #20, respectively. Maralgoo was 11-8 in dual play, 17-13 for the year, including 10-6 on the no. 1 court in the spring, and 5-5 in conference match ups. Martaa finished this spring with a 7-7 record, 20-10 since the fall season, 5-1 in the no. 2 spot and 2-5 in conference play.
In 2025, during her sophomore season, Maralgoo was named the ITA Central Region Most Improved Player after finishing with a 12-6 singles record.
Playing as a duo in doubles play, the Chogsomjav sisters were ranked #9 after a 9-8 record on the no. 1 court this spring, with a 5-5 Big 12 record. The two were ranked six times in the ITA rankings throughout the season, including their highest appearance at #33 on February 4, the first doubles ranking of the spring.
Other postseason accolades for the two include All-Big 12 selections from April 30. Maralgoo was named to the Second Team Singles, Martaa to the Freshman Team and as the duo to First Team Doubles.
