The K-State External unit aims to support the department's goals of generating revenue and delivering the best fan experience in the Big 12 Conference by providing outstanding customer service and interaction as well as enhancing our gameday event atmosphere.

K-State's Athletics is looking for outgoing, passionate and hard-working individuals to serve in various capacities. There are multiple positions within the unit:

  • Undergraduate Ticket Office Assistant: applications currently being accepted for the 2025-26 school year
  • Undergraduate Graphic Design Assistant: applications currently being accepted for the 2025-26 school year
  • K-State Promo Crew: applications currently being accepted for the 2025-26 school year
  • In-Stadium Gameday Hosts: applications currently being accepted for the 2025-26 school year

Undergraduate Ticket Office Assistants

Undergraduate Ticket Office Assistants are students seeking a career in sports or ticket operations. Undergraduate Ticket Office Assistants will assist with all ticket office functions, including, but not limited to: processing ticket orders, managing customer service matters within departmental and/or NCAA rules, telephone and window sales, office management, balancing of revenues, some supervising of ticket services on select game days/nights for various athletic events, and projecting a positive image.

Responsibilities:

  • Work all football home games during the fall semester and men’s/women’s basketball games, volleyball games, soccer games, baseball games, and other events.
  • Process ticket orders and manage customer service matters within departmental and/or NCAA rules.
  • Conduct telephone and window sales of tickets for all K-State ticketed sports.
  • Maintain a positive image during all interactions that represents K-State Athletics and our teams appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an active full-time undergraduate K-State student, open to all academic majors.
  • One-year experience interning or working in collegiate athletics marketing or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to commit 10-15 hours a week in the office as well as work select games throughout the year.
  • Must be reliable, well organized, and adaptable while having friendly and outgoing people skills.
  • Must maintain a professional manner and attitude, have strong multitasking and creative thinking skills and is able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

This is a year-long, paid position beginning June and ending May. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $10.50 per hour. Office hours are required during the summer months. Undergraduate Graphic Design Assistants

Undergraduate Graphic Design Assistants are students looking to work in graphic design or sports. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting K-State Athletics marketing, fan experience, ticketing, licensing and sales with graphic design materials. This position will help drive revenue while maintaining the K-State Athletics brand. This position will assist with all graphic design needs for the external unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce materials to generate revenue; videoboard slates, email headers, paid advertising assets, website materials, posters/flyers, revenue-based social content graphics.
  • Maintain K-State brand and logo reputation by effectively utilizing best practices and supplying graphics to the external unit that support the visual standards of K-State Athletics.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing, providing clear communication, and following up to ensure quality and direction are within established brand standards.
  • Align with the graphic design work of other departments within K-State Athletics to ensure work adheres to basic branding and rules of design.
  • Design, develop and deliver graphics, visual text and imagery for revenue-based social media and marketing content.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a extensive knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must provide sample portfolio of previously completed work.
  • Must be an active full-time undergraduate K-State student, open to all academic majors.
  • One-year experience interning or working in collegiate athletics marketing or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to commit 20-25 hours a week in the office.
  • Must embody a strong work ethic, have a desire to work in collegiate athletics, and have strong written and oral communication skills.

This is a year-long, paid position beginning June and ending May. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $10.50 per hour. Office hours are required during the summer months. K-State Promo Crew

The K-State Promo Crew is comprised of students who are excited to share their passion for the K-State Wildcats with current and future K-State fans. Promo Crew members represent K-State Athletics and its partners as brand ambassadors at various events and home games throughout the year. The most important part of the Promo Crew’s job is to promote the K-State Wildcats and help create a memorable home game atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Fan Experience team with game day promotions execution for all home football games as well as assigned home events for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, and baseball.
  • Engage with fans in a professional and positive manner.
  • Assist in promotions and game entertainment tasks on game day including installation set-up, operation and teardown of all Fan Experience elements at scheduled events (i.e. Willie’s Fun Zone activations, Junior Wildcats Club events, theme day promotions, etc.).
  • Distribute giveaways items, facilitate on-site promotions, interact with fans, process and handle data collection at scheduled events.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase and maintain high levels of student involvement.
  • Participate in organizational, planning and other staff meetings while assisting with other assignments as administered by the staff.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an active full-time undergraduate K-State student, open to all academic majors.
  • Must be able to commit to work all K-State home football games plus assigned home games for all other K-State sports (~40 events) including several hours prior to start time, includes weekends and evenings.
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of large crowds or with one-on-one conversations and have a charismatic and outgoing personality.
  • Must embody a strong work ethic and have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have a passion to help the department provide the best home atmosphere in the Big 12.

This is a ten-month, paid internship beginning August and ending May. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $10.50 per hour. Internships may be available for course credit if approved by K-State Athletics. Work hours will be flexible around class times and other work hours. Promo Crew members annually use this experience to gain future jobs in sports and get a behind-the-scenes look at a model intercollegiate athletic department. K-State In-Stadium Gameday Host

In-Stadium Gameday Hosts serve as on-camera personalities for K-State home games and execute on-field and in-crowd promotions in a fun, creative, and innovative way that provides the ultimate in-game experience for all fans. Hosts will serve as a complement to the public address announcer, handling promotional segments in the stands and on the field/court while interacting with fans.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute on-field/court and in-crowd promotions, both sponsored and un-sponsored, as set forth by Fan Experience staff and in the run of show script.
  • Attend game day meetings and rehearsals prior to home games, as needed.
  • Work with Fan Experience team to create fun, energetic and original scripts which can add additional revenue and content to the team.
  • Bring on-going creativity to the role by constantly searching for ways to reinvent themselves while staying within the framework of their character.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Fan Experience staff.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an active full-time undergraduate K-State student, open to all academic majors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong on-camera presence, highlighting poise, professionalism, likeability, approachability, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must possess the ability to perform in front of large audiences, comprehend scripts and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Must be able to take direction along with constructive criticism from Fan Experience staff and produce positive energy using both voice and body language.
  • Must have flexible hours and be available to work assigned K-State home games.
  • Must abide by all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and K-State Athletics Inc. rules and procedures – this includes all social media platforms
  • Must have a passion to help the department provide the best fan experience in the Big 12.

Hosts will be paid an hourly rate of $10.50 per hour. Work hours will be flexible around class times and other work hours.
