A special teams standout during his time with the Wildcats, Porter played in 61 career games – the third most in school history – over the 2019 through 2023 seasons. He was an honorable mention pick for the 2023 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year award, while he earned Academic All-Big 12 honors each of his final four seasons.
Porter, a 2023 team captain, led the Wildcats with nine special teams tackles in 2022 as he helped K-State win the Big 12 Championship. He recorded two special teams tackles in the Big 12 Championship Game in addition to the Sugar Bowl, while he blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown in the season opener against South Dakota. It was his second-career blocked punt as he also had one against Texas Tech in 2020.
A native of Friendswood, Texas, Porter obtained his undergraduate degree from Kansas State in communication studies in May 2022 and his certificate in sports performance coaching in May 2023. He and his wife, Emme, reside in Manhattan.
