He comes to Manhattan after working one season at Texas A&M alongside current K-State Director of Strength and Conditioning Jeremy Jacobs. He helped the Aggies earn an 11-2 record and a trip to the College Football Playoff in 2025.
Cater was a four-year standout fullback for LSU, playing in 42 games with six starts during his career. He helped the Tigers win the 2019 National Championship, while LSU was the 2019 SEC Champion and won both the 2019 Peach Bowl and 2018 Fiesta Bowl.
Following his time at LSU, Carter signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans and played in 17 games with five starts over the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He also worked at Southern Football Academy in his hometown of Valdosta, Georgia.
Carter earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on sports studies, leadership and communication studies from LSU in 2021. He and his wife, Hillary, have two daughters, Lilly and Juliet.
