HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year starter at Wellsville under head coach Mark Luedtke... Led the Eagles to a 10-1 record in 2011 and was named the Kansas 3A Defensive Player of the Year... Was a first team all-state pick as both an offensive and defensive lineman... Totaled 137 tackles, which led all defensive linemen in the state... Also carded 27 tackles for loss and five sacks during the 2011 campaign... Selected to play in the 2012 Kansas Shrine Bowl... A two-time state medalist in discus who also medaled in the shot put, setting league records in both events... Also lettered in basketball, while he was the 2012 Kansas 3A Powerlifting Champion and set the state record in bench press... Earned a 4.0 GPA and was named the class valedictorian.
