Ashton Farmer is in his first season at Kansas State in 2025 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Coach Farmer came to Manhattan after a brief stint at Tulsa as the Director of Performance. That followed six seasons at East Carolina, the first five as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and the final season as the interim director of strength and conditioning. Overseeing the GPS monitoring and velocity-based training, Coach Farmer was a member of three bowl champion teams at ECU, as the Pirates won the 2021 Military Bowl, 2022 Birmingham Bowl and 2024 Military Bowl. In addition to his work with the Pirate football team, Coach Farmer also worked with the women’s tennis and women’s golf programs.
Prior to his time at ECU, Coach Farmer was the head strength and conditioning coach at North Carolina Central for two seasons – supervising training for the football, softball, volleyball and track & field programs – while he spent three years at Virginia State as the director of strength and conditioning for Olympic sports. While at VSU, Coach Farmer helped develop a pair of conference championship teams and three others that earned northern division championships.
Coach Farmer began his time in the strength and conditioning field as a graduate assistant at South Carolina State from 2013 to 2015, while he was a guidance and athletic counselor at Abbeville High School in 2015 and 2016.
Coach Farmer has earned Level 1 certification from National Speed and Explosion as well the Titleist Performance Institute. He is also a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Specialist, as well as being Level I and II running mechanics certified.
A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Coach Farmer earned his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from South Carolina State in 2012, while he obtained his master’s degree in education from SCSU in 2015.
