Matthew Greenwald began working with the K-State football program in 2021 as an assistant athletic trainer.
 
Greenwald came to Manhattan after serving as an assistant athletic trainer for two years at Sacramento State working specifically with the football program. Prior to that, he was the head athletic trainer for the women’s soccer and softball teams for the previous three seasons.
 
A graduate of Sacramento State in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Greenwald worked as a student athletic trainer for two years before becoming a graduate assistant at Monterey Peninsula College for two years. He then went on to American River College for one year before returning to Sacramento State.
 
A Certified Athletic Trainer, Greenwald earned his master’s degree in athletic training from San Jose State in May 2015. Greenwald as his wife, Erin – who is an assistant athletic trainer at K-State working with the track & field program – has one son, Declan.
