Scott Trausch joined K-State in 2013 as the department’s first Director of Sports Nutrition. In his role, Trausch oversees the development of all nutritional protocols for all 16 varsity teams, including performance-fueling strategies, team and individual nutrition education, hydration, and body composition testing.
Trausch is responsible for the development and coordination of optimal performance nutrition services for the K-State football team. In this role, he consults with football student-athletes, coordinates strategic individual fueling plans, oversees the logistics of all team meals and travel, and gameday nutrition protocols. Trausch is also a member of the football program’s optimal performance team as he collaborates with several members of the sports medicine and strength and conditioning staff to ensure players are at their peak performance for practices and games.
Trausch manages the overall daily operation of the Ahearn Fund Performance Table. He assists the Executive Chef and Sodexo General Manager in planning, organizing, and managing the daily production, distribution and service of all meals served to student athletes.
Trausch began his career at the University of Nebraska as a student intern with the Nebraska Football team from 2008-2011. In 2011 he took over the full-time role in Sports Nutrition managing all sports nutrition services for the football team from 2011-2013.
A Nebraska alumnus, Trausch earned degrees in Dietetics and Nutrition and Exercise Health Science in 2011. He completed his Master of Science Health, Human Performance and Recreation degree from Pittsburg State in 2017.
He and his wife, Emily, have one son, Mason, and one daughter, Makenna.
