Kelvin Gilkey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Iowa and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Kansas. Kelvin graduated with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, and a bachelor’s in health promotion-wellness management from Grand View University. As a student-athlete at Grand View, Kelvin was competitive on the football team, contributing to their 1st undefeated season and 2013 National Championship, earning All-American and all-conference honors. Kelvin was an assistant football coach for three seasons at Grand View from 2020-2023. Helping the Vikings get back to the national championship game in 2021. Most recently, he, and the 2013 national team, were inducted into the Grand View Athletic Hall of Fame. Kelvin employs person-centered, solution-focused approaches in his therapeutic style, with a focus on multiculturalism, values, and creative therapies to meet the diverse needs of his clients. His background includes working internationally, veterans, incarcerated youth, and athletes. Kelvin's passion is educating and empowering athletes in mental wellness and performance, and he is actively pursuing a certification in mental performance consultation.
He lives in Manhattan with his wife Ellie, and their 3-year-old daughter Nola.
